I understand that Lili loves doing indie films but I wonder if she’ll do more non indie movies

Well she has one coming up in September :) I think she will get a lot of eyes on her for that one which is exciting

The indies are obviously where her heart is but it’s frustrating that they don’t get the wide visibility because they’re not on the big streaming channels. Sad the industry seems to only pick mainstream projects for nominations and doesn’t seem too interested in indies anymore.

Yep it’s a bummer but it’s just how it is

I'm gonna sound like such a pessimist saying this, but lili has the worst luck.

how do projects like PWMOV :) end up earning major award nominations, while her work doesn't even seem to come close to that? it just feels like her moment never comes. like... what's the issue? does she need to change her agent or something?

This isn't even about her not getting an Emmy nomination. we all knew that wasn't going to happen. i think I'm just overthinking and wondering now more than ever how someone so talented still hasn't had her moment to shine.

I think she knew what she was getting into when she decided to go with mostly indies. I don’t say that as a knock on her, she genuinely seems to enjoy them and she’s a smart girl who knew what she was up against when she decided to go that route. It’s very hard to get awards recognition for indie projects, particularly on little known streamers, and everyone is aware of it. I would assume she absolutely knows the cost of choosing what she does but she does it anyway because it’s what she’s passionate about. Hal & Harper was a rare gem that had the misfortune of being on mubi but if it had gone to another streamer I 100% think it would have gotten more recognition!

Also shoutout to Brittany Allen for her Emmy nomination! Her work on The Pitt was fantastic. HBO told her they wouldn’t be submitting her as part of their Emmy package (?why?) so she self submitted and it paid off! Funny to see HBO celebrating her nom now though

The people we meet on vacation got a nomination, does that mean TLH could get a nomination next year if prime push for one?

That kind of surprises me, I did not care for that movie. I’m not sure how the rules work but maybe!!

Ooo I actually would love Norway or Morocco to win because they have never won a WC. I like Mbappe as a person but inside the field he pisses me off, mostly because he’s really good and he makes it well known to everybody lol
