Found a new beauty over the weekend.

Beautiful changes. I'm rearranging everything right now (my home, my dreams, myself) choosing just the right place for them, where they can be loved and cared for.

Changes. Things are leaving this house and things are coming in. I'm finally putting everything from the studio into its new place here in my home and anticipating a lot of meditative moments, soon, sitting here at my loom weaving and beginning a new chapter.

Current state of my studio table? One hot mess.

I found this amazing 1950s vintage sweetheart wedding dress about 15 years ago. At the time I owned a successful online vintage shop called k8tykat and found myself in San Francisco a few times each week sourcing vintage clothing and buying from some really amazing customers. I still remember the woman I purchased this from and the delight she had in her eyes when she told me about the day she was married in this dress. Hopefully this will be worn by another happy bride on another delightful day. Available at @summercottageantiques, I'll post a closeup of the sweet neckline in a little bit.

Yesterday was another fun day working at @summercottageantiques and visiting with all of our customers. My space got a lot of love with the shifting of things from here to there, creating fun vignettes and putting out lots of new items, like these #vintage #balusters which are great for candlesticks and some sweet #glassglitter mini #raster baskets. I also brought in some more vintage clothing including a gorgeous 1950s #vintageweddingdres which I'll post a pic of in a bit. #happysundayfolks #kennerroadvintage

Returning to my design roots for a fun new project.

I'm working in my home studio this morning, trying out a few new ideas like these vintage fabric and leather cuffs while my teens are still sleeping. I have a new order heading to @seasidesouvenirs new shop in Benecia next Tuesday and these are going to be there too. Making things grounds me and I'm so excited to see what 2017 has in store for #kennerroadstudio. Also, thank you for the sweet words & hearts of support yesterday. It's a weird and hard place to navigate, when your family falls apart but I am strong and brave and I can #doscarythings.

The world feels so broken right now, both politically and in my own personal life as I navigate fiur@Kings into being deported from my husband, and yet I'm constantly finding small visual reminders that there is magic if you look for it. I found this vintage cast iron sink in San Francisco last fall and finally set it on the porch and filled it with some new succulents. They still need to be planted but I was comforted when I took this picture and saw these sun flares which are reminding me to look and search for the joy and love everyday. Even while I am standing up for those less fortunate and standing up for myself I will always do my best to find the love and joy.

Persevere. Today will be a quiet day for me. I plan on turning the tv to pbs and working in my studio. While we all have different beliefs and may not see this election the same way I am choosing to stand up for love. I am standing up for compassion, for tolerance. And I will continue to teach my children that everyone counts, everyone matters and women's rights are human rights. I will continue to teach my son that no one has the right to grab anything, ever. Then tomorrow, I will march.
