Kokichi's hat isn't even really a dictators hat from what I can tell. It looks more like a pilot's or captain's hat. Also can anyone explain how the soda is supposed to relate to n*zi imagery??? I keep seeing that but haven't found the explaination behind it yet.
While it can look like a pilot cap, it is definitely a reference to this nazi commander hat to the point of just being a direct rip off
To me it feels pretty clear cut and paste, considering his title in japanese is much closer to the term dictator it does not feel like a coincidence to me whatsoever
It's no secret japanese media tends to have wwII imagery, almost romanticized.
The fanta thing comes from, according to a few articles I found, coca cola creating fanta in nazi germany and becoming popular enough to be known as nazi germanys drink.
Alone the drink would be innocent, but combined with the nazi hat not so much.
Regardless I do again want to stress that Ouma is NOT a nazi. The point of these peices of imagery was a poor taste way of making you see Ouma and think "evil". Its VERY important that Ouma does not actually wear the hat or cape. Personally, I think by choice. We know they leave them copies of their uniforms afterall, so I always felt Ouma KNEW he was meant to be an antagonist role from the very beginning, and decided he would show the mastermind what kind of villian he could be. But the lack of hat and cap is symbolic of his underlying motives being far more innocent than others assume

But I won't complain about revisiting the best courtroom in the series.
Though also (and this may prove to not be true later, I don't remember specifics), but this season of the show specifically harping on the fourth wall has me think that the in-universe team were actually hoping the show would get cancelled here. Since they made so many choices that kinda... enabled this to happen. Which presumably they hadn't made before.
53 seasons is a weird number of seasons to do something like that, usually it's at a nice milestone. IRL Survivor films seasons in pairs. So the idea that 52 was a low rating one and instead of getting renewed for two they just got a final season, it would explain why they would leave 52 seasons' worth of case files in a lab that could easily point to the fact that 52 life-or-death games had happened AND the fact that they, again, ALL APPARENTLY WENT TO THEIR OWN FUNERALS.
No I will never let this game forget that they decided that nobody would think it weird that sixteen teenagers pulled a Jean-Ralphio Saperstein after faking their own deaths.
This story only makes sense if they wanted the show to end, to be honest.
