Do you think Em is on the same level now that he used to be? Like do you think he makes as quality music as he did in the mmlp/tes era's? What's your honest opinion? No hate :)
iβve always find this question hard to answer because i donβt know how to compare his songs and albums and say which one is betterβ¦no one thinks the same way, i know a lot of people think heΒ βfell offβ and others think heβs just as good, andΒ theyβre all valid opinions, im not gonna be here trying to convince anyone or change someones opinionβ¦but personally i feel like i love his new songs and older songsβ¦and yes there are some songs (new songs) that i donβt like but the same thing happen with some of his older songs, that i donβt like at allβ¦ i feel like heβs always gonna be changing his style and his flow andΒ heβs gonna evolve with music and some people are gonna like and others are just gonna keep loving his older stuff
i also feel like it depends on the song and the producer, like the one he did with Dr Dre,Β βmedicine manβ the song was insane and then he works with other producers and the songs might now be as good, but same thing happened like 10 years ago, so i feel like itβs just a matter of taste, but like i said, i personally like his new stuff and i feel like the quality for me is just as good :)
Man tho like I feel itβs so crappy to hate his new shit considering his entire discography has reflected his life. You can just tell between mmlp and curtain call how fucked up he was.
I remember after he stopped making music to take time and fix himself, then he came out with Relapse and everyone said it was shit. And thatβs because he as a person changed, so his music changed with him. He was currently dealing with the hardest part of his addiction, actually TRYING to come out of it. Hence why that album was kind of a mess. Itβs a artistic reflection of the life he was currently dealing with then. Then Recovery came out and it was different from everything, including Relapse. Itβs my favourite album because I knew he had finally grew into himself, and was finally figuring himself out as a person and showed it.Β
Itβs bs when βfansβ say his old music was better, cuz itβs literally just people admitting they preferred Em when he was addicted to drugs and alcohol, on the literal verge of death. They hate that he no longer carries the pain he used to put into his music for them to consume. Why do people like to feed of others misery? Canβt yall enjoy something different for a change.
