Meet the Spinner - Lucy Wangui . Lucy is a mother of 3 grown up children and has several grandchildren. . She started spinning for Kenana Knitters in 2006 when she was about She learnt how to spin when she was in her early 50s. She needed an income generating activity that she could do from the comfort of her home . Prior to this she earned her income from farming and as she grew older she found that it was becoming more and more difficult to do the hard manual farming work. It's going to be a great day, the sun is out and our artisans are busy working. . We have had a few cold and chilly mornings at the workshop recently. The sun is out today and Penninah Nyambura one of our Knitters is enjoying the morning sun as she works on her finished products. . Our Knitters work from home and come to the workshop to wash and complete their finished items. We have an open workshop that is open, airy, well ventilated and with lots of working space for our Knitters and play areas their children. . We are grateful to all the clients and friends who have been supporting us through these covid-19 times.
