1. We would miss you. 2. It’s not worth the regret. Either by yourself if you failed or just simply left scars, or the regret everyone else feels by not doing enough to help you. 3. The Gilnean smiles. “Ah, evening director!” he greets the woman, hands in his pockets, his stance casual and relaxed. He slows up a bit, either inviting her to walk with him, or eventually slowing to stop where she was.

He then gives the woman a wink. “I’m always aware, love. Im not an easy one to hide from,” he teases.

The Quel’dorei’s tone is curious as her eyes tilt up briefly to catch at his golden gaze. “What can you tell me of the people you served and duties you upheld while there?”

“I was a guard within the walls of Gilneas for a number of years. I’d performed so well in regards to swordsmanshio and martial combat i was nearly immediately recruited into a regiment of the Gilnean Royal Guard after graduation from the training academt within Gilneas. Primarily, as much as it pains me to say now, I served under Genn Greymane. A number of security details, as well as patrols atop the wall surrounding the city.”

He pauses, sighing. “Gilneas was a beautiful place. The people were kind. And they were locked away from the world, and their loved ones, because Greymane was afraid to face the threats the world brought forth. It is for this reason that i began aiding someone iconic to many of us - Duchess Lochlyn Kiden. Passing letters for families, and even on occasion helping smuggle someone out of the city. Call it a bit of freedom fighting,” he offers with a chuckle.

“One of my last acts in service to the people of Gilneas, was assisting in evacuating the city, while the forsaken lay siege, and the worgen curse ravaged the streets. The rest, if you’ve read my record, is history, unless there are bits that were left out.”

Glancing up at Kelladen a second time, she asks. “Are you willing to share with me any particular recollections you might have of her, or - I’ve read she had a child. But, I’ve found very little information on either of them. Presumably… that was intentional on the Duchess’s part?” Pausing to gather her thoughts, she eventually shrugs. “I thought I knew her well, but the circumstances of her life and death subsequent to my memories of our last – encounter, frankly, boggle my mind. I’d appreciate your assistance in reconciling who I knew and the woman she subsequently became. Will you do this for me?”

“I heard about the operation you speak of, though I’m afraid I don’t know the details, or really much anything about it. I apologize for my lack of knowledge in that respect. But, what I will say… is that the Duchess was far from deserving of the fate she met. After going years without contact, I was contacted and summoned to the Duchy of Kiden. Things were… bad, when I arrived. But, to put it shortly, The Duchess gave us all a home. Human, Orc, Forsaken, Troll, Draenei, anything you can think of, all were welcome within Kiden. Greymane, the treacherous, flea ridden mutt, saw this as treason to Gilneas.”

Kelladen pauses, taking a breath, golden hues blinking a couple times.

“Lochlyn Kiden was imprisoned, with no real trial, and a couple of months later, was brought to her home, and executed; in front of her people. In front of us. Had she not specifically reached out to forbid us from retaliating, it would have been a very one-sided blood bath.”

He pauses, waiting for the Quel’dorei to intake the information.

“Northrend has no… single authority to lay political boundaries or expectations upon it’s occupants. The war between the Horde and the Alliance is meaningless to the Vrykul, the Storm Giants, the Argents and the Wyrmrest Accord. It is equally meaningless… to the city-state of Sanctuary City. That’s–that’s why she arranged for the construction of our home here. To provide a politically neutral environment for refugees and immigrants from other lands to make their homes in a less war-oriented culture.” It’s suddenly quite obvious how the Titan city came into existence. The reason the chronomantic Guardian had been set within the city for decades, outside of time and relevant space.

Questions remain, however. “The article pertaining to the General–the Duchess’s funeral mentioned a Daughter. Lady Wieda Ashcroft-Kiden. What do you know of her? Is she–safe? Happy? Properly provided for? Are there others she wished to see cared for who may be in some measure of need?”

“I’ve heard of young Miss Kiden. Though, i never met her. And i couldn’t begin to tell you how she’s doing. I’ve not seen the woman since before Kiden changed hands. Should you wish, I could make an effort to find her, but I cannot think of anyone else Lochlyn would have wanted looked after - not off hand, anyway.”

An Argent emissary attempts to wave Aresh down and she nods to indicate they’ve been seen. “I would very much appreciate it if you were able to locate her. I don’t want her life disturbed. However, if you are capable of an informative encounter with the young woman, I would appreciate you doing so. Return to me with whatever information you’re able to manage through polite discourse and we’ll proceed from there. Does that sound reasonable to you?”

Stepping away from Kelly, Aresh shakes her head. “No. In fact, this particular time ‘round, I’d prefer if you could simply… ‘bump into her’ as it were. Keep it all very casual. If we can be of assistance without opening up these still-recent wounds, that is certainly my preference. We can’t exactly… give her back what was lost.”

Stepping over to the road, she waits for several titan-engineered motorcycles to pass before adding to her expectations. “Report to me immediately if she has any imperative needs to be met. Assuming she entrusts them to you. You’re a Kiden. Light willing, she’ll trust that in you, if nothing else. That will be all. Have a lovely evening, Commander.”

Listening as the woman finalizes her instructions, the Swordsman nods, giving a reassuring smile. 

“I’ll make it happen, Director. You have my word. If she has need, or I’m able to talk her into coming here, you’ll be the first to know. G’night, Aresh,” he says, hands slipping into his pockets as he watches the woman depart.
