Welcome to the inner workings of my mind

I have to write a song for my final for my songwriting class and its due tomorrow and I just wrote the whole thing in 5 minutes and had some major life realizations. Half is true half is not. Thought I’d share it with whoever still goes on tumblr hope you like it.

How did my life end up this way

I used to better myself day by day

Doing what I could to dodge the trouble

Now I’m consistently seeing double

Always on the hunt for the next cheap thrill

Even my best friends say you need to chill

The clocks ticking down if I keep this up

Gotta put it all behind me and finally grow up

I was slipping away

Letting all my memories fade

My world started turning grey

Need someone to come to my aid

Then she came to me and said

You better stop this or you’re gonna be dead

Its the truth and you have to know

Can’t get sucked back into the flow

I’ve been watching some things happen

These deeds they really put a dampen

On the things that one day could be

Of that I’m sure you have to agree

I was slipping away
