terminally addicted to the bit

Someone pointed out the other day that the Stan & Ford relationship tag on AO3 surpassed the Billdip tag, and I got...a little interested in tracking the popularity of character and relationship tags in the Gravity Falls fandom over time.

Here's the link to the data (which I got via the Wayback Machine) and the interactive page for characters, and here it is for relationships. I noted in the tables what the most recent episode/book were at each date, but I thought that would clutter things in chart form. Also, the final date is just a placeholder. I'll adjust it on January 23rd next year if I remember.

There's a lot of interesting/funny stuff going on here if you pour over it a bit. I think the extremely visible Book of Bill aftermath is one of the most entertaining parts, though. It's a bit funny that despite it quite literally having Bill's name in the title, the guy was unable to even reclaim his third place title. Also, it's really wild seeing just how big of a gap there was between Billdip and any other relationship tag.
