episode eleven

They floated silently forward, weaving through the water like air into air or thread into cloth. I stood in awe for several minutes as they ghosted by me before my friends reminded me to put my hand in the water. I held perfectly frozen for what felt like a long time and then one of them rounded the pond and rose up from the gravel to glide along my fingers from just behind its head to the base of its dorsal fin. Its hard to perfectly describe how a sturgeon feels. They were soft but so solid. They felt like velvet wrapped around bone. Over and over they rose from the bed of the pool to run along my hand. I cried, i could not help it. My life has changed. I feel like nothing i write will truly encapsulate my great emotion. Sturgeon love forever
