Happy Monday!!! How’s everyone doing this fine day? I’m doing pretty good, I suppose. I finished this book about a week ago. I enjoy listening to Kasie West’s books and this one was no different. While I did sorta predict the ending (and wasn’t too happy at what I thought it was going to be), I was still pleasantly surprised when I actually reached the end. Happy Valentine’s Day!!! It felt only appropriate that I finish this book with the last chapter being Valentine’s Day, on actual Valentine’s Day! How was everyone’s day? I had a small party with the kids I teach and it was crazy and hectic as always. Onto the review! Honestly, this book wasn’t at all what I was expecting and, while I was upset in the beginning, it did win me over by the end of the book! Last day of January and the only book I read this month! I enjoy a good Kasie West book and this one was really no different. I loved the idea of taking some sort of podcasting class (my high school was unfortunately devoid of any extra classes) and watching Kate growth through it was fun! The whole book I couldn’t decide who I wanted to wind up together more, but I’m happy to say I was pleased with the choices! Hello once again! I’m sad to say I haven’t finished any books yet this year :( but here’s one I read last year! I’m not gonna lie, it took me a hot minute to get into this book, but Olivia Wildenstein did an amazing job bringing two different worlds together and introducing fae and a feud. It’s been almost two weeks since the new year started but I still wanted to post this! I read a lot of amazing books last year! Several of my favorites were actually ARCs from Netgalley. I think my favorite book of 2022 was Love & Other Disasters by Anita Kelly. It was so cute!!! After Adrienne Kisner’s last book I just had to read another one of their books! While Six Angry Girls is definitely my favorite of the two I did enjoy this book as well! I absolutely adored this book! I picked it up because I was on my I need more lgbt books hunt (which is still true btw) and I saw it had knitting in it. In case you’re wondering, I love yarn and knitting and crochet, so I was uh yes please. This book met my expectations and had an asexual character! I loved it! Watching the six angry girls fight against injustice, grapple with their morals and wants, and grow together was just beautiful! I hope everyone’s holidays were happy, merry, and bright!!! Around this book I realized I hadn’t read enough books with LGBT representation, so I started purposely hunting down and reading books that had LGBT representation in it. This book was a good book to start with! Originally I picked it because I thought it was a rewriting of Peter Pan. While it wasn’t, I greatly enjoyed the characters (and how despite being from different centuries and having different experiences during their mortal lives) they were brought together for a common cause. Happy winter and happy Hanukkah!!! I’m excited to keep showing off books I read during 2022! In this next book, there were a lot of secrets that the characters were trying to hide from each other. I loved slowly trying to piece everything together and learning from the characters. I would probably rate this book a four out of five. I was going to do two different posts for this book until I realized I had enjoyed the first so much I read the sequel immediately afterwards 😂 so I just decided to combine the two into one. S.K. Ali did an amazing job bringing Janna (and her family and friends) to life. Both books did a good job showing that everyone has flaws, and how some people can grow from these flaws and some, unfortunately, choose not to. Books: Saints and Misfts & Misfits in Love by S.K. Happy December everyone!!! This was an audiobook I got through netgalley a few months ago. I loved that it was a collection of postcards and letters and I’ve always loved Paris, so I throughly enjoyed this book. I loved the little glimpses into the everyday life too. I know I had the audiobook version, so I can’t be sure that the print version doesn’t have it, but I would’ve loved pictures and drawings and to see the actual postcards as well. Happy Thanksgiving y’all!!! I absolutely love listening to Kasie West’s books. They’re cute and simple and full of happy endings (the best kind of endings 🥰). Lucky in Love was no different, although I’m not gonna lie, there were times I wanted to fight Maddie. I wanted to stop her from making some of the mistakes she made and I kept having to remind myself that’s she’s young and I probably would’ve done some of the same things at her age. I believe it was my first new adult book of the year and I absolutely loved the Cinderella twist. I was happily surprised at the lack of evil in this book. Happy Saturday everyone!!! As you might remember, I’ve been trying to catch up on book reviews, so I actually read this book in February. I wasn’t sure I was actually gonna like it when I started it. It was such a good fantasy read though! The characters are beautifully written and Somaiya Daud does an amazing job of drawing on Moroccan history and weaving it into their own world among the stars.
