Numero uno supremo: BEST FRIENDS (BUT THEY DO ALL THAT)

Simply perfect. We know from canon that they're best friends. What can stop us from thinking they do something more that some friends just don't do? I really think they don't have anyone else they can rely on because of their antisocial and paranoid attitude. Why not dump all your other needs on your bestie? They touch each other all the time anyway. They spend SO much time together anyway. They're basically the same person anyway. They're mindmelded and soulbonded. Some unserious behind the scenes making out is no big deal. It's what friends do – they know it best! They ARE best friends after all.

I love it because it adds some tragedy to their fucked up-ness + some bittersweet fluff. They REALLY have only each other!

A classic you can always rely on: BEST FRIENDS (CANON COMPLIANT)

They're (codependent) best friends in canon. It's not said but you can tell by the way they act and talk about each other. And who wouldn't have a strong connection with your dance partner of 14 years whom you go to the Olympics with!? They can't live without each other. They can't be mad at each other for long. They're comfortable with each other. It only makes it more wholesome when they're all over each other, because you know it's pure platonic love without anything weird going on. When you don't know what to do with them, it's always a sure shot.

Jacseepill the rico way: COUPLE WITH AROALLO JOSÉE

Also known as "Josée is my girlfriend" "Jacques is my best friend". Makes sense with how he's the one to praise her and not vice versa + with how i generally characterize her. A bit edgy, but wholesome enough as well. Bonus interesting conflict is added from parties who don't understand this mutually agreed on relationship.

My preferred way of any jacsee romance.

Jacseepill regular: COUPLE (WITH NO ASTERISKS)

I think all couple jacsee interpretations have this fun angle of them hiding it from the rest of the world for whatever reason. And that's about all the fun I can get from this regular inrepretation. It's not bad, but we could have something more interesting, in my humble opinion!

Good for angst, good for shit and giggles, not much of anything else: JACQUES LOVES HER, SHE DOESN'T LOVE HIM BACK

It can be really funny whether she's aware of it or not. You can definitely pull angst from this too. I would hope they don't end up together in this scenario (not forever, anyway). He'd have to learn to live with it or get over it.

A unique take: JOSÉE LOVES HIM, HE DOESN'T LOVE HER BACK

I don't think I've ever seen this interpretation. Safe to say that headcanons would do major heavy lifting here. With that in mind, I think it would be a very fun, unique and interesting read on Josée if we were to look at their relationship from that angle and in a convincing manner.

Only making this distinction because I've thought of it before and might have seen it before. It's basically BEST FRIENDS BUT THEY DO ALL THAT, but I'd assume in this they would know what they are and therefore it would lack all that uncertainity/messiness. It's fine. I prefer when they think they're so normal that there doesn't need to be a different new word for their presumed normalcy.

I don't think I've ever seen this done seriously before barring for some AU headcanons. A bit whatever unless You'd want to do the incestuous angle like the characters they're based off of.

The fandom go-to: MLM/WLW SOLIDARITY

I don't know what this means. Seems like a redundant distinction to me: it falls under the BEST FRIENDS category. I don't care about them being homosexual because it wouldn't put their canon dynamic in any new or interesting light.

That's not them: NORMAL HETSLOPPY WHOLESOME COUPLE

I'm lenient about this one because I get it, we have our fantasies and sometimes we just want to see our favs happy and chill and stuff. But it's just so painfully ooc. Jacsee will always have that grain of bitterness in it. They just wouldn't be a fully healthy couple and they wouldn't create a well adjusted child. I'd prefer anything else, except for the next interpretation.
