Percy shifted beside her, lifting his head again to speak, “Can I just make one thing so incredibly clear?” Chiron paused and looked over at him, the lines in his face almost growing deeper as he stared at the son of Poseidon. “Go on,” he said finally. Percy held up his hands and spoke fast, “It was Annabeth’s idea and she snuck into my cabin before I could stop her so I should be given a lighter sentence.” “You ass!” She exclaimed as she flung a hand out to slap his arm. Which only hurt her because of his invulnerable skin. She cursed again and held her throbbing hand in her lap. Percy’s gaze shifted over to her, his attempt of self preservation melting away as he looked down at her hand then back up into her eyes. She waited for her sweet, loving, caring boyfriend to coddle her and kiss her injury away and plead for forgiveness. Instead, he simply sniffed in disdain, “And you call yourself the daughter of Athena.” She glared over at him, the pain in her hand dulling a little in the face of her annoyance, “I know where your weak point is. I’m the only one that can kill you and you want to test me like this?” Percy seemed to consider that for a moment before nodding once resolutely, “Absolutely.” Annabeth stared before looking at Chiron whose exasperation was evident in his expression. “He practically begs me to sneak over!” She tattled, “He even set up a system of flickering the lights in his cabin to let me know when the coast is clear.” Percy leaned forward to lean against the table as he interjected, “And just how does she know what the flickering lights mean? That’s right! She’s a part of the plan! She sneaks over on her own accord! Flickering lights mean nothing when this camp runs off hopes and dreams.” Annabeth mimicked his posture and leaned on the table as well, “We have more than enough money to keep the lights on! He does it on purpose!”

percy sitting thru the long ass reception until his body feels like a thousand knives are stabbing him all over and he just needs to move and he's a little upset because annabeth never showed up but it's fine it's not like she had to attend...percy walks out only to find annabeth sitting outside on the curb covered in blood and dirt and monster dust and her dress is torn and her hair is a mess and her make up is ruined because she fought tooth and nail to attend this wedding only to be attacked left and right by monsters and ruining all her hard work and she couldn't bring herself to walk in looking a mess and she's still crying-
