i wake up in the late afternoon, shes still sleeping peacefully. i get chills when my feet hit the cool tile floors. i walk the kitchen and start to make some pancakes, im standing at the counter when i feel her warm arms around my waist. she rests her face in the crook of my neck and gives my sleepy kisses.

we quietly eat pancakes together and drink our morning coffee on the porch. looking out at the forest, the leaves are all turning orange, yellow and red. fall is here. as we get ready in our bedroom, we listen to a slow lovey playlist. we dance around wrapped in blankets and wearing pretty lingerie. you do my makeup and brush my hair, you pick out a pretty orange dress, and i wear your soft oversized white sweater. we decide to head to the store.

you reach out and hold my hand while i drive. we go into a little coffee shop and get pumpkin spiced lattes. at the halloween store, i pick out a new candy bowl and buy you flowers. you buy us both halloween mugs and ingredients for pies. we decide on a soft white blanket, and creamy throw pillows to match. next we drive to the pumpkin patch. you look so happy and get so excited as you pick out a giant round one. i pick out the weirdest shaped one i can find. you get 2 more tiny ones for our porch.

the way your eyes light up when you see the mini donuts makes me laugh. your so beautiful, we share them at a picnic table before heading home. after unpacking and doing some small decorating (garland on the mantel, wreath on the door, pumpkins on the porch and in the backyard, small halloween bowls, candles, blankets and throw pillows) we decide to bake an apple pie. you've always been the baker, i love it but im not as good as you. you take the lead and i sit on the kitchen counter in my sherpa jumper. we talk until late into the night. the pie is done and we each enjoy a slice with vanilla icecream.

I added more songs to your playlist today. Songs you’ll never hear or care about it. Songs you probably listen to but don’t even have the slightest clue that they break my heart over and over again. I don’t want songs to break my heart anymore.
