First day at the gym... Wish me luck
It’s the 3rd of January, there’s already been a constant stream of ‘New Year, New Me’ posts all over social media and here I am, joining the hype.
As someone that’s been self-conscious about my weight for as long as I can remember, I’m no stranger to making promises about eating healthy and working out that I’ve kept for maybe 2 weeks max… Pathetic, I know. This time has to be different; I’m 20 years old (turning 21 this year EEK) and I want to feel HOT!! Like insta famous models posing at Ocean Beach Ibiza with overpriced drinks hot.
Motivation levels are HIGH, I’m sat watching Revenge Body, mentally preparing myself for my first gym session tonight and trying not to think about how little I actually know about the gym *If anyone knows any good apps or sites for workouts and tips PLEASE help a girl out and leave a comment*
I will be walking around like I have no idea where I am or what I’m doing, because if I’m honest, I don’t, but I’m going to do the research, get stuck in and I’m sure I’ll come away with some form of knowledge I can take forward with me, boosting my confidence. If I don’t then THAT’S OKAY!! I’m not going to know it all after 1, 10 or even 20. Hell, even professionals are always coming up with new workouts, so you’ll never really know everything.
Thankfully I have my best friend and my boyfriend on this journey with me, there to keep me motivated, pick me up when I have bad days (and trust me there will be LOTS) and celebrate the good days.
So, here’s to my first night at the gym and hopefully the start of a successful journey… WISH ME LUCK
