there was nothing like some antagonism and kat offered plenty of it â xander hadnât yet decided on whether it was an annoyance or not. there were bigger things to worry about than a pissed bartender, he was sure. what with the news and all, there was a cloud hanging overhead and it demanded attention. all the more reason to get drunk.Â
âwho would i be if i couldnât annoy the fuck outta you?â xander drawled, swirling his drink before setting the glass down. âiâm well aware but nowhere quite has the same stand-offish ambiance needed for me to willingly spend my hard-earned money.âÂ
perhaps she shouldâve given up on persuading xander to stop his patronage because her job depended on customers and because it seemed that she was failing in her objectives. but kat wouldnât be herself if she stopped beating the dead horse.
âcharming.â accompanied with a light snort. she almost wished that she hadnât come over to his table but on a dead night, even being annoyed was better than being bored. âcall me crazy, but i tend to like it when people like me.â
