I have an idea/headcanon/theory that the shadow in Apple Blooms dreams in the episode Bloom and Gloom that was saying the whole "looks like cutiemarks and trouble are two peas in the same pod..." and continuously offering to take away her mark was actually Starlight invading her dreams in order to try and get to the friends and family members of the main 6.

At this point in time, starlight does not have the idea for time travel, so potentially her initial idea was to get to their personal lives first. The shadow talked VERY similarly to starlight the whole time, held the same ideologies, and was too similar to the main villain of that season to just be nothing. This 1000% wasnt a canon thing they thought of in the writers room but I think it would have been a fun twist.

Powerscalers are stupid and people shouldnt be arguing about whether twilight or starlight is stronger because they CANONICALLY have the exact same levels of power despite the fact that twilight is an alicorn.

I think that people focus on the lore of the 4 alicorns having the powers of quote "a hundred armies" (Tempest, MLP: The Movie) and Twilight already being Celestias student far more than said people focus on actual character information being given in the show.

In the cutie re-mark, Twilight and Starlight physically could not best each other whatsoever. Starlight knew this and therefore relied on the time travel spell to send Twilight to different timelines to avoid fighting. When they do fight, niether of them exactly gain an upper hand at any point and wind up both getting incredibly exhausted. Twilight herself says both "we will be stuck fighting for ALL ETERNITY" and "my magic COULDN'T stop her, so I had to convince her to stop herself" to and about her fight with Starlight, which does not imply restraint but rather inability.

That episode alone should be enough to end that argument, however a lot of others argue back the idea that "Twilight was holding back/didnt wanna destroy starlight/wanted to redeem her first". This idea is basically objectively false and dare I say misunderstands Twilights character as a whole. Before season 5, Twilight, unlike many childrens cartoon protagonists, is very much a "kill/defeat first, try to redeem later" kind of character. She was actively against the idea of releasing Discord to redeem him and has never once been the first one to suggest redemption for any character except Starlight Glimmer (Do note that AFTER season 5 she has shown herself to be more open to redeeming villains; she was on board with redeeming Stygian after Starlight had the idea, and she was pro-talking things out with Tempest in the movie). In the cutie re-mark itself, redemption was not even a possibility brought up until Twilight was essentially nearly defeated.
