kind of surprised at how much i'm enjoying not having a least on an apartment at the moment. i always saw people who tried to be more nomadic as synonymous with avoiding other commitments in one's life. but after so many claustrophobic living experiences it's been nice to go the other way for a bit

if there's one thing i envy rich celebs, it's having all their clothes tailored. feel like every time i like an outfit, i see it from a new angle that looks terrible. is it really so hard for clothes to fit right all over??
it's interesting when i can and when i can't channel my frustration. woke up this morning after four hours of miserable sleep on the couch (a persona-induced accident). as i doomscrolled fashion, trying to fall back asleep in an actual bed, my bad-sleep-moodiness just made me more and more frustrated: nothing matched the feeling of the current me. so i kept digging, trying to find a lead or an inspiration. and eventually, i do feel like i had to really look at myself, and to the clothes i've accepted but never truly considered how they look on me specifically. i don't think i "solved" it, partly because style isn't static. but i do feel like i finally put my foot down on something that had been nagging me for ages.
this isn't the first time i've had a moment like that in a sleep deprived state, and i do end up feeling grateful for those miserable moments. but i wish i could just see things clearly all the time!!
interesting how, if i do a few specific things at my own pace each day, i'm able to do other things at a rush without it stressing me out. it's nice to know that certain things will center me. but at the same time it's a little frustrating, when i see others who just live without worry in the first place
i've totally avoided ai, but i really need a website for my music. all my friends say that if i hire someone, that person will just use ai to make the site, so i should vibe code it myself. after wayyy too much time thinking of a way i'd be comfortable using it, i decided to try designing the site entirely myself, by hand, and exclusively using the ai to realize that design to html.
i'm not really opposed to making the computer talk to itself, as it were. and it does seem like smaller or local models aren't any ecologically worse than just using technology in general. i'm also less worried about plagiarism when it comes to code, compared to drawings. but it's become pretty apparent that most vibe coded websites look exactly the same — which is especially embarrassing when the site is part of someone's art piece. i really want a site that feels like my own, i just don't have months to spend learning CSS minutia. let's see if it's possible...

even being upstate for just a week so far, i'm already feeling so much less fomo about shows.
reinstalled insta for a sec and got all these posts about events near my studio. and just thinking of the headache it'd be to stick around, none of them seemed worth it. i'd rather just play persona with my siblings and focus on my own work.
maybe it's time for me to really focus on making stuff that i actually think good. i've spent long enough exposing myself to art that has an interesting idea, but doesn't reach emotions.
thought i'd be able to relax at my parents house this week when i'm between apartments, but honestly i'm more high strung than ever. i can keep my mind off a lot, but family drama isn't one of them.
but at least i'm starting persona 3 reload...
kind of nice to say goodbye to something with someone. it's gone, but you both know that you had it. and it's not tainted by a fizzling out.
i did start just cutting stuff out and elmers gluing it to my notebook. why should it matter that it's a thin one i'll probably need to retire in a month? better this than having bits of tags or packaging lying around that look too cool or cute to just throw away. and i already feel more motivated to write there, instead of my notes app.

moving so much this year has forced me to accept more waste and a lot more letting go of things.
but i'm still not happy about it.
feel like i'm too quick to cast aside my plans and projects when an alternative comes up. just a little too desperate...
i am gaining so much emotional power by consistently having a teeny tiny dog on my lap.
idk how i'm going to cope when the dog moves ;~;
i feel like nearly all of my emotional energy is used up searching for an apartment, and it still feels like i'm not trying enough. it's just unreasonably hard and complicated to find a good place in this city. but i'm slacking too much on my main job, and i can't stop thinking about reverb algorithms. i wish i could just force myself to sit down and do the most important things in order, and be done with it. but if i don't take breaks to play music or cook then i just feel so overwhelmed.
and i really truly need to be better about lunch awareness (thank you father strange).
so bittersweet to have a good roommate situation for literally the first time and it's only for a month ;~;
