The movie “Flipped”, directed by Rob Reiner, is a heart-warming love story that revolves between two young teenagers, namely Bryce Loski (Callan McAuliffe) and Juli Baker (Madeline Carroll). It starts off with Bryce and his family moving into the neighbourhood. As the Loskis were moving in, Juli saw Bryce and fell in love at first sight (kinda weird since she was still pretty young to know the concept of ‘love’). As Juli stated, it was his dazzling eyes that took her heart away.

To sum up the movie, Juli started to lose her feelings for Bryce, and Bryce started to have feelings for Juli, hence the title ‘flipped’. It was showed in a way that people can relate and learn something from it. On Juli’s perspective, one shouldn’t fall for someone based on their appearance. Sure they look good, but what about their attitude? It’s important to look and understand the whole thing, not just to look at it. As for Bryce’s perspective, one must do what they think is right. Just because someone disagrees with you, doesn’t mean you shouldn’t do it. It’s better to be alone while doing the right things than to fit in with everyone doing the wrong things.

Sometimes in life, it’s okay to take a break from everything. Sometimes you need to find yourself to be able to make good decisions. And one way to do that is to detach yourself from everyone.

When everything gets hard, remember to prioritize your own happiness. Don’t think of other people first, make sure to think of your own.

Majority of teenagers went through social problems such as anxiety.

This doesn’t happen because they’re undergoing a ‘phase’, but because they come to understand more things but think negatively about it. 

Anxiety is not just overthinking. 

Whether I like it or not, my anxiety has become a part of my life. It’s become my shadow; always following me wherever I go.

Or when you’re super nervous and your stomach is like a tight knot that’s untwistable. It feels as if you’re about to puke everything you ate.

It feels like your mind’s about to explode from the overthinking or over analyzing of every little detail. So many negative thoughts come to you and sometimes get mixed up with each other.

Then there’s this tiny voice in your head that tells you nothing but negative thoughts and ideas. It makes you depreciate yourself to the point that you feel worthless. It makes talking to people hard because you become very conscious of your actions, or sometimes it’s because you keep saying ‘sorry’.

The music industry today has become quite a big hit. There’s an increase in aspiring new artists, musicians, and bands everywhere. But at some point before some of them became pros, they were unconfident, shy, and inexperienced. Just like how my band and I started out.

We weren’t instant pros who rocked the stage, we were novices who didn’t know how to be in a band. 

Practices were fun because each of us were trying to get the hang of playing in a band. Playing in a band meant to coordinate with each other and to match with each other’s tempo, which we were doing a bad job at. So as our practices continued, we eventually got the hang of it and sounded nice. 

But that wasn’t the only thing that improved, the relationship of the members also improved. From strangers, we became friends. Music helped us bond and strengthened our relationship, which made playing even more fun. 

Then as our first gig was approaching, the five of us became more nervous and anxious. As the day came, there we stood on the stage frightened of how people would think about us. 

But as we started playing, all our worries disappeared as we focused on having fun playing on stage, sharing our music to the audience. As our performance ended, it felt good to finally perform in front of them. The best part of the performance was the applause. It made us feel appreciated and amazing. It stimulated something within us that made us want to perform more. It inspired us to do better too.
