CALLING FOR LOVE LETTERS!!!
Do you keep your old love letters? Do you want to contribute to a new work of performance?
One of the young artists working on our project is in love with love! She is creating a performance piece for an exhibition this Sunday 26th July at the Dubbo Regional Gallery, Western Plains Cultural Centre, Dubbo.
During a durational sound piece, titled Dear Mr Darcy, she will read aloud and record other peopleâs love letters in an attempt to understand what real love feels and sounds like. These private letters will then be broadcast in a series of intimate spaces across the gallery.
And we need your letters! Share your love stories via our Submit page and we will post the work and share images of itâs installation on Tumblr next week. Submissions can remain anonymous if youâd prefer and will be shared aurally only.
Thank you for your help!!

A masterclass with Marina discussing ideas for our individual performance pieces.
On Friday 3 July, the participants joined Western Plains Cultural Centre Curator Kent Buchanan for a presentation and reflection on performance art in a regional context.
Throughout Kentâs talk, the group continued to create weave their increasingly long threads of string using raffia. They began these on the trip from Dubbo, all the while considering ideas of distance, journey and the changing landscape.
First day at Marina Abramovic: In Residence, at Pier 2/3 in Sydneyâs Walsh Bay.
A really nice summary of what to expect when you all come to the Pier in two weeks time!!!

LOOKING FOR INSPIRATION: Something for Shanae.
Hi Shanae,
Take a look at this work by Australian artist Gabrielle de Vietri. Itâs not a performance piece but an installation. Itâs a filing cabinet full of relationship contracts that the artist created based on her experiences falling in and out of love and the different kinds of relationships there are in the world.

LOOKING FOR INSPIRATION: Something for Kate.
Hi Kate, I thought you mind find these interesting when it comes to thinking about your imagination-inspired performance instructions. This is a series of works by Yoko Ono called âInstructionsâ. There are others you can see here:

I canât wait to see what you come up with!
