Trudging along the sidewalks of Akihabara, Mary kept her head down, careful not to meet the disapproving looks of those she passed--or perhaps it was moreso to avoid hearing their giggles--her thick, white hair unhooking itself from behind her ears and opting to cover them instead. Truthfully, it did little to muffle the sound of speeding cars and chatter, but it still provided her with a sense of safety. Clenching the apron that coated her dress, she bit her tongue, her eyes following the cracks on the ground beneath her.
After managing to break one of Shintaro's beloved game disks, she'd vowed to go out and buy a new one on her own, despite the many offers for someone to tag along. As much as she would have appreciated it, it'd have been a burden. Thus she refused.
Her shoulders brushed against those of some other, prompting her to leap and scoot to the other side, only to bang into a businessman to her right. Muttering a quick apology, she bowed her head repeatedly. "S-s-orry! I-- I'm sorry!" Shielding her eyes with her palms, the short girl dashed forward, anxious to quickly escape the mob before she could cause any more disaster, only for her to trip shortly after--her elbows crashed against the concrete with a yelp.
