Kaitlyn Shields – also known as the ‘the widow’ – is a twenty six year old science teacher and she is at SCSSA because she wanted to be a part of a school that helped people. She holds an uncanny resemblance to Leighton Meester and is taken.

History:

Kaitlyn had her first kiss at eleven years old, and she never kissed another boy after that. She fell for that kid, and he fell right back. It wasn’t just a crush or a phase, either. Throughout middle school and highschool, they were inseparable. They had the type of love that movies were based off of, they had it all. Right after graduation, she went to college and he was off to the army, but that didn’t change anything. Their relationship may have been long distant, but neither of them wanted anyone else, never even thought about anyone else. They were married at twenty, but three short years later, Kaitlyn answered her door to two men in uniforms. She automatically knew why they were there, but she couldn’t wrap her head around it until the words left their mouths. Her husband was dead. The young woman didn’t know what to do. She could barely remember not having him in her life, and it was hard to try to imagine a future without him. It took her awhile to pick herself back up, but once she did, she knew she had to keep going for him. Finishing college and getting her degree, she looked into schools that would hire her, stumbling upon SCSSA not long after. As soon as she heard about it, she knew it was where she wanted to be. She knew she could make a difference in someone’s life, and she felt like she needed a fresh start. She still wasn’t sure how to cope with not having her soul mate around, but picking up the pieces was her only option, and she was willing to do whatever it took to put herself back together.
