He was a skater boy she said “the skateboarding subculture and hobby have been commericialized and sanitized by the very corporations and brands that the punk scene that spawned it opposed”

I will say, I don't think everyone has to be religious/spiritual in any way, but there is a deep intellectual and personal humility that comes with getting high in the woods and attempting to commune with to the Astral Bug Parliament.

Written Seals
Like signing a legally binding contract, this form of finalizing your magic involves writing or carving intentions into something else.
The written seal can be used to express any type of agreement between two parties. Those two parties can be you and a god, you and the universe, or you and someone that has petitioned you to do magic for them.
Written seals can be made using anything that will leave a mark on paper, including ink, pencil, crayon, chalk, charcoal, graphite, sand, clay, etc.
A written seal can be created in any number of ways, depending on what materials are available. For example, a simple signature can be done using the thumbprint. However, more elaborate seals can be created using a stamp, a pen, or even a knife.
Another form of written seal is a fingerprint done in blood or ink.

listen. listen. listen.
adapt your craft to your culture.
okay i wanna expound on this.
this means learning what you can from your ancestors or about folk practices from your culture.
but it also means adapting what a lot of us read in witchcraft books (which, admittedly, tend to be written from white/american povs*) to our own culture and background.
and that means:
using color correspondences that make sense to you (eg i use blue for prosperity because that’s the color of the highest value bill where i’m from)
using herb correspondences that make sense to you (maybe chili is used in one of your favorite homemade dishes, and so it has more of a comforting association than one for baneful work)
using your native language in your spellwork, whether that’s writing petitions in your native language or making sigils inspired/influenced by the alphabet/writing system
learning about the spirits in your culture (and this ranges from nature spirits to deities)
if you work with plants, learning about/caring for/working with plants native to either where you live or where you’re from!
generally learning about the spiritual beliefs of your culture (i personally come from a culture with very animist beliefs, for example!)
and more!
you don’t have to follow what’s written in a book exactly. to me, witchcraft books are more like references or guides rather than things your supposed to follow down to the tiniest detail.
*i do know there are more poc-authored witchcraft books now than before! but a lot of the ones i had access to previously were mainly from this pov, hence i specified it as such
i hope your sense of social justice is always rooted in your love and compassion for others
