Introducing a month-long event for the Merlin fandom in October 2026: Sapphics in Merlin! For anyone who wants to explore and celebrate the sapphic possibilities of characters and relationships from the Merlin series!

HOW IT WORKS:

Inspirations (aka the prompt list) will be released on August 15th!

Every day in October there will be 5 inspirations to choose from: a character from the series, a sapphic song, and three prompts. You can pick & choose which one(s) you want to create with! You earn bragging rights if you somehow manage to squeeze all 5 into your creation.

The only rules are that 1) your creation should focus on sapphic relationships or feelings, and that 2) your creation should feature at least one character from the Merlin series.

Acceptable creation mediums include: fic, art (digital, traditional, sculpture, photographs, whatever!), gifs, edits, manips, videos, web weaves, mood boards, playlists, meta/commentary, and anything else you can think of that you want to create! EXCEPTION: no AI creations.

There are no minimum requirements for any medium. You are welcome to make as big of a creation as you like, or as small as you like!

QUESTIONS:

1) Do I have to participate every single day of the month? Nope! You're welcome to create for as many or for as few days of October as you like.

2) What if I miss a day but still want to create for those prompts? Go for it! You can post something inspired by the prompts from October 5th on October 6th or 10th or any other day after the 5th.

3) How long do I have to create fan works? A whole year! The bulk of the fest will happen in October, but life is busy and muses are fickle! You'll have until September 30, 2027 to create and post anything inspired by this year's prompts. (And then hopefully there will be another event here for next October!)

4) Can I create a work about trans* characters? Yes!

5) Can I create a work about XYZ? Any and all content is allowed as long as you use content warnings where you feel they are needed.
