She’s awake–something that doesn’t surprise Yuuri, really. Unlike Kurumi, Miki’s not been on the verge of death for weeks upon weeks, and though she’s still recovering slowly, it’s not as slowly. More often than not, if someone comes by her room, she’ll be able to answer–as long as it’s not one in the morning, or something. (Though, really, it’s not like any of these girls have had a normal sleep schedule for the past who-knows-how-long.)

And yet, Yuuri hesitates. There’s a million reasons why she’s not certain if the girls she’s spent so long with would actually still care for her, but Miki’s one of the ones who’s seen her darker side, her trip too close to a place where someone can’t return. If she had killed Kurumi, after all, none of them would be here now. Humanity wouldn’t be here anymore. And it all would’ve been because of a stupid mistake she made in her fear, in her inability to trust that the medicine would be successfully retrieved.

When she opens the door, she does so slowly, glancing around. No, there’s no doctors or nurses around, and she’s relieved. Having to talk to people who, for the most part, hadn’t been through the awful things she’d been through–it was difficult. The way the Randall Corporation had managed to hole up, to avoid the immediate tragedy of seeing those around you no longer be human…

“Have you been resting well? I see you’ve found a new book to read.” It was a little weird to see her without the Stephen King novel she was practically glued to, but now that they weren’t running for their lives, there was the time to actually find new things to read.

“I’m...all right. As all right as one can be in a recovering situation, yes?” Miki offered a small, uncertain smile at the appearance of Yuuri’s worried face. None of them were having an easy time just yet, and Yuuri was no exception. Miki wished she could be of more help for that, while Kurumi was still in questionable shape, but...she had been about as useful to anyone else as she had been to herself. 

Miki still struggled with this entire situation had panned out. Leaving to look for that water, being a fool when she found the walking corpse of her best friend...even now she couldn’t help but think about her. Did they just leave her shot body in the school halls? Was she given a proper burial? Or did they simply burn her away with other corpses? 

It was still heavy on her mind, even if she didn’t show it. Refused to bring it up in such an important situation where the others most definitely didn’t need to hear about her needless stress about that. They didn’t even know who Kei was. Why would they want to know when there were more pressing things to worry about...?
