Kaga-Yuzen

Suzuko Narihira, standing in the morning mist, appeared both majestic and graceful.

In the summer, I gazed at the sea while swaying on a sightseeing boat off the coast of Tojinbo. On the horizon, two wakes were clearly visible, appearing to intersect.

Everyday objects that we use without a second thought long to be part of the human world. Come midnight, they play quietly with their beloved cats and act a little silly. Wearing this kimono might just give you a magical experience.

This piece depicts the scenery of seawater being scattered during the traditional Agehama salt-making process in Suzu. Capturing the sparkling spray dancing in the wind, the breeze brushing against the cheeks, and the scent of the sandy beach, I infused my own sensory experiences into a flowing, modern yet classic silhouette.

This piece features a mimosa motif. The flowers sway in the breeze, bending but never breaking as they bloom. I created this work with a heartfelt sense of daily gratitude, as expressed in the symbolic meaning of the flower.

The palmette is an ancient, sacred motif derived from the design of palm leaves. In this exhibition, I have reinterpreted this motif in a contemporary style, hoping to evoke a fresh, modern sensibility.

21st Miss Kaga-Yuzen, Umeda Momoe

This design is inspired by the magnificent cedar tree in Kayano, Yamanaka Onsen. This ancient tree, said to be 2,300 years old, is full of life and perhaps secretly wishes to play with the forest animals one day.

I created a new visual composition with a frame-like layout. I experimented with blue gradients for the coloring in an attempt to capture a cool, elegant beauty.

This design features white wildflowers blooming in the mountains. The flowers were selected for their hidden meaning of love in the language of flowers. The light blue base color symbolizes sincerity.

This piece depicts the Chikuma River, a winding section of Japan's longest river, the Shinano, which nurtures places such as Anzu no Sato and Komoro. It was inspired by the poetry collection of Toson Shimazaki and features mountain village landscapes. Kaikoen Garden, etc.

A fantastical floral pattern of the Palmette flower. I imagined the brilliance of fireworks from this Palmette flower and depicted it.

The wife of Maeda Toshiie, who founded the Kaga domain, was named Matsu. The design is based on a pine tree(Matsu), which shares her name, and shows the four seasons with wisteria, hibiscus, and camellia flowers. It also shows the leaves of willow trees growing along the banks of the Saigawa and Asanogawa rivers, while round dots represent the rain. There are rows of Japanese umbrellas. It is a scene of Kanazawa, a city with many rainy days.

In the springtime, I enjoy a cold sake and feel a slight buzz. Dreams are most beautiful when half-realized.
