but my basic process for making a stimboard is:
first, i find the gifs i want to use. you can find gifs on tumblr by searching "(thing you want gifs of) stim" in the seach bar. if you want a specific color, you can add "#(color you want) stim" to the search, or search just that. when you find a gif, you then find its source. if the post you're using is made by whoever made the gif, you can credit that post. if its a stimboard that uses that gif, you can press on the credits of that board to find its source, and credit the source post.
to keep track of the sources of the gifs i want to use i usually just keep the tabs with the source posts open on my laptop, or bookmark them.
once you have all the gifs you want (usually this will be 8 gifs if you are using a 3x3 grid), you put them into a post, usually arranged as a 3x3 grid with your boards subject in the center. then, you can write a caption.
to credit your sources (which is very important to do, because it gives credit to the people who made the gifs you are using! you should never skip this part.) i usually use a format that looks like x-x-x/x-x-x/x-x-x, with the first three xs corresponding to the top row of gifs, and so on. you copy the links of the gifs source posts, then attach them to their corresponding positions in the credits by highlighting the x you want and embedding a link. you dont need to credit the image in the center if it is official art, but if it is fanart you should link to its original creator. you can always replace the xs with other things like emojis if you want!
then, you should be ready to post! you can add relevant fandom tags, and tag the main gif colors and themes you used like "(color/theme) stim". also tag things that could be triggering.
