My final festival poster for the brief. It advertises a a motorbike festival that I originally came up with using previous research. All logo designs, photographs and assets I used are original.

I have made a print in the print room using a tire I took from the local garage by the college. I wanted to capture the texture for my original design and place it into illustrator for the festival poster.

Today we finished our final posters from Anthony Burrill's XYZ series designs. I decided to scrap the last two final concepts because I got better feedback about the final design I made today in Adobe Illustrator.

This is my final poster design which represents the ocean and beach. The word "Anthropocene" is included as garbage washed up on the beach.

From the 8 concepts I developed, I picked these 2 designs because I like the composition of them and how I implemented the word anthropocene. They represent how great our planet earth is yet we destroy it with our own wants.

In our brief we were tasked to design 4 designs on 2 pages each. I took various parts of the image and implemented them in my own concepts including the word anthropocene.

Below is the image I got to work with and my 8 concepts.

We were tasked with a brief to design our own A5 thumbnail based on one of Anthony Burrills works. We have to include the word "Anthropocene" in the design. I made a mindmap exploring anthropocene, it's definition, and things associated with it.

These are my final 2 poster designs I came up with using some features from the previous 4 poster concepts I had. I am leaning more towards the poster on the left of the page as it represents my festival more than the other poster design.

I designed 4 poster concepts I was thinking of doing. Each poster uses ideas from previous thumbnailing and research.

Mind-Mapping

I made another mindmap after multiple thumbnails to narrow down the areas I mainly want to look at for the poster which are terrain, motorbike parts, road signs, and textures.

After the analogue moodboard, I made a digital version.

Planning:

I first started planning out the layout of the moodboard through sketches on 4 different panels.

Thumbnailing Pt.2

After looking back at my other thumbnails and words associated with my festival, I drew more thumbnails to help in designing the festival poster.

I looked at more clothing, the journeys environment, and mechanical parts of the motorcycle.

We were given an exercise to use Adobe illustrator to express cocktails that every person has randomly chosen on paper. My cocktail ended up being the "Painkiller", which originated from the British Virgin Islands.

Today we made our own moodboards that expressed textures and the vibe of our project for the poster design. I used magazine cutouts along with some sharpie drawings. While I was producing the moodboard I focused a lot on the landscape and its textures.

A collection of drawings I made directly translating some of the words I have chosen to draw from my brainstorming and mind map for the poster design. I decided to do logos aswell as a form of studying layout, colour and some typography.

I brainstormed and mindmapped words that I associate with the poster design I am aiming for which is essentially a motorcycle festival. Since this is an original festival and not existing, I decided to name it "Bike 66".
