Sketches from life drawing society this week. Used sharpie and pencil, enjoyed the added element of music as the models were playing as a band.

I had the chance to develop sketching techniques and unique perspectives, also analyzing human proportion.

I think these sketches are successful as the figure is proportional and thick brush strokes are balanced.

Today we studied life drawing though the muse of black paint. I enjoyed this change in medium and use of form. I attempted leaving blank areas between lines for a new perspective.

Here I utilized pencil, charcoal and sharpie. 

We sketched the model outside today as he demonstrated several poses on a bench. I enjoyed the change in scenery and new poses. I used a sharpie to complete these sketches.

I worked with bamboo and Indian ink to illustrate the nude model. I feel these are examples of accomplished sketches as I’m becoming more confident with this technique. I enjoy the drip effect accompanied by this medium.

Painting from the life painting workshop this morning with Sylvia. This was my second time completing this workshop. I feel more accomplished with this piece than my first attempt. I have learned to keep less paint on my brush and layer less paint to prevent it from leaving splotchy parts on the paper.

I like the idea that my most recent painting is almost like a recap of this project. It depicts me as I appear to others. After running through many wild ideas to capture my feelings attached to the subject matter I came back to the literal sense of what my hearing deficit looks like.

Ideas notebook for movement brief

I created a pitch through powerpoint looking for funding to support my work. It was fun creating the slides and ideas behind each slide.

Sat outside today and painted/ drew what was around me. I enjoy making observational work using gouache.
