It didn’t register for me until recently that my experiences of being forced to strip naked multiple times at the mental hospital to be ‘checked’ when I was 14 was sexual assault, because the people who did it were nurses/doctors who clearly didn’t find me sexually attractive but instead used it as a form of humiliation and control towards children they deemed as ‘unruly’ and ‘uncooperative’ (ie. children who asked to be treated like people). I thought only people who fit into this idea of a child attracted pedo could be child sexual abusers, so I thought my experience didn’t count.

We should be teaching people harm reduction not that self harm means you're broken. I'm sorry if anyone has ever made you feel that way. If self harm makes you feel better, even for a moment, why shouldn't you be allowed to do that? people do shit that harms their body all the fucking time but this one thing is off limits?

I'm edging around the topic because it's almost certainly ban worthy but like, if it helps fucking do it, id much rather you use a "less than ideal" grounding technique (which im already rolling my eyes just typing that) than have no way to help yourself.

Let me be clear: people are also shamed for wearing adult diapers for purely medical reasons. Almost everyone who wears them for medical reasons has to hide them for the exact same reason as people who wear them as a kink.

Shaming someone for finding them arousing is not at all different to me. You would also do that to someone who needs them for disability reasons, I know that because I've seen it happen.
