It was here at this house that I got a very animated tour from an enthusiastic guide entirely in Japanese, gestures, and a few English words. I confess the only bit I understood was “tomodachi” soon after “Takasugi Shinsaku” and pointing in the direction of the Takasugi house about a block over. So I repeated those two words and got lots more nodding and smiles.

It actually worked, and he appears rather enthusiastic about it. It was safe to say, the woman was quite astonished with this man’s behavior. Never had she encounter anyone like him. Still, she remained silent until she was requested to speak otherwise. 

         They shuffled through a sleeve of their haori, and six nmaibou sticks appeared. An important thing to note that those sticks were chocolate flavored, perfect for a man who only consumed sugar. Disgusting. “Ah, the woman with me wants to talk to you... And I see you’re still not paying rent, Gintoki. You know you could always earn some more money if you would just join the Joui...”
