I hate it when people tell me “it gets better” in regards to my grief. It’s been almost 3 years now and no, it does not get better. “It gets better” is just a shitty false hope of telling me I will adapt to a new normal, which I have done that already. People act like I sit there and sob every day but I’m not. I smile a lot, I laugh a lot, I have joy and happiness in a lot of moments but I don’t want to feel ashamed for talking about my grief and the perpetual emptiness that exists inside of me because of it.
