First of all, let me tell how dodgy and cheaty is that this student prolife group is masquerading with the domain of their university to leverage their beliefs like that, but whatever.

Second of all, it’s also veeeeery sketchy that the second link presents a “paper” by someone from a Christian university. And that’s it. No nuance, no discussion. Just nit-picky definition blurring. And I call it that, because it equates scientific scrutiny and differentiation, to political statements. And leaves with, “I hope that these books saying that the product of two gametes is different shows you that I am right and should not inspect any other aspects of this in other ways”.
Those clumps of cells in biorreactors are also life. Are also different genetically from their wild counterparts. And we don’t defend them for their unique status. The fact that they are not sexually produces doesn’t immediately remove its status as life.
It doesn’t present the viewpoint of other women, people in society, historical precedents or anything else. Just focuses on the word “life” and mystically equates it to a fully formed, walking, breathing, human life. It’s giving her the choice and possibility of avoiding giving birth to a future human which will lived troubled due to the material and historical conditions of our society. Does a child born with severe birth defects deserve to die? How about as this woman stated children with down syndrome? What about AUTISM? We are being able to detect it early and earlier all the time. What if we found a genetic trigger? Would it be okay to abort a child just for being autistic? How about dwarfism? Is it okay to abort those children?
So many places say YES. Abosolutely. Abortion is always NEEDED. Because why? Is what I ask. Why do we NEED to abort when there are how many different types of the pill? What about the morning after pill? I’m not saying life begins when sperm meets egg.
I’m saying that EIGHT MONTH OLD FETOI ARE HUMAN BEINGS. And don’t start that the 99.999% of these are done in unviable fetoi. There are STILL cases where this is done just for one of the reasons above. In what is a healthy child but people just don’t want a down syndrome baby.

There is a reason why there is a ‘waiting period’ that is waiting for a child. Those that don’t get adopted are older children.
Again. I just want to stop completely and utterly UN-NEEDED abortions.
We should be focusing on birth control but no. All these dicussions begin and end with how utterly and vastly require abortion is for an option in BIRTH CONTROL.
If someone dirt poor can get free pills, and condoms are in every gas station then WHY are abortions 100% required as this option? And not you know. A sad thing? Why are so many pro-choice advocates demanding abortion as if it is a form birth control?
Safe, legal, and rare right? Only no. So many of the arguments, again, are ‘it is required as a form of birth control!’ When birth control starts with the pill, the condoms, the teaching of safe sex.
But I guess actually teaching people safe sex just is IMPOSSBILE isn’t it?
But that isn’t even the END of it.
Because guess what? there is a DEMAND for fetoi tissue.

We as a communal species capable of forming advanced and intelligent civilizations have a responsibility to protect the weakest among us. Our sense of right and wrong is what differentiates is from animals in the wild. Our capacity for compassion, empathy and love. Our knowledge that it is indeed wrong to take advantage of someone weaker than ourselves. Why shouldn’t our priorities be to protect human life, and enforce personal responsibility to that end? When did the innocence and vulnerability of a child cease to be something worth protecting? When did jokes about eating our young, smashing their tiny bodies, and throwing our offspring away like garbage become commonplace? When did female biology become so despised and why do youg humans have to suffer and die because of it?
