I have a lot of interests and hobbies. Some might say I'm a Jack of all trades, I prefer to call myself a renaissance woman. 🤭
I don't know what this blog is about. So far I've been reblogging... *looks at the tags in the archive* ...whump, memes, art, fandom posts.
Asks and DMs are always open.
Whump tropes I like:
I'm just like Chemistry herself, there's an exception to every rule. Although I do generally prefer strong whumpees.
Here is the link I used to create the tierlist. I should probably add that 'no' doesn't mean I'm not open to reading these tropes, but I probably won't write them.

Summary:
After the abduction, Mary is bought by the Duke, who, captivated by her personality and impressed with her skills, forces her to play the role of his wife. With her nation defeated, Mary has no hope of rescue and nowhere to run. She complies, but finds small ways to resist the Duke's control and stay true to her principles. As he grows more and more enamored with his captive, Mary slowly begins to gain influence and build alliances, all with the goal of undermining her husband and, indeed, the entire Empire.

So the idea was to make Whumper who has so much fun talking to Whumpee that they grow attached to them. But when Whumper take things too far (by threatening Caretaker, for example), Whumpee starts giving them the silent treatment. And Whumper is determined to make them talk the only way they know how.

Whumpee looked at the whip in their hands, their arms trembling as if they were holding a poisonous snake. In front of them was Rival, tied up and on their knees, their expression vastly different from a few hours ago, when they were making fun of Whumpee.
“What are you waiting for?” Whumper barked out. “I thought you wanted to take your revenge, make Rival hurt for what they’ve done to you?”
“Do you really think I can hurt anyone with my upper body strength?” Whumpee laughed nervously, but the joke fell flat.
Rival’s earlier mockery stung deeply; Whumpee didn’t forget that. But it also felt as if their little quarrel happened ages ago, in a parallel universe. And now… Now both of them were here, facing real evil, real danger...
“I won’t!” Whumpee finally said.
“Oh yes, you will,” Whumper grinned self-assuredly, “Or you will take their place!”
Whumpee glanced at Rival, took a shaky breath, and threw the coiled whip in Whumper’s face:
My woke take, as someone who has worked in both a public library and a school library, is that we desperately need both more books that are at a higher reading level but a less mature subject matter, and more books that are at a lower reading level but a more mature subject matter, because 8 year olds who are advanced readers are still 8 year olds and don't want to read about graphic violence and torture, and teens and adults who have learning difficulties or who are just later readers for whatever reason are still teens and adults and don't want to read about Billy the Bunny going to school or whatever the hell.

Whumper paced back and forth seething with frustration.
"Why won't you just talk?!" they snarled at the captive.
It took Whumpee a few seconds to process the question, their mind nearing the edge of consciousness.
"I will... once you convince me."
Whumper simply growled in response and turned away, eyes scanning their instruments in the corner of the room.
"If it makes you feel better," Whumpee continued, "I'm as surprised as you are... I didn't think I would last longer than a couple of minutes."
Whumpee's voice was hoarse, but their words were undeniably filled with pride.
"Shut up!" Whumper yelled, and the ringing in Whumpee's ears got worse.
"I..." Whumpee took a moment to come up with a reply, "You're sending mixed signals here: first you want me to talk, now I want me to shut up. Pick a la-"
Whumpee swallowed once they saw Whumper's new implement of choice. They wouldn't be able to hold out for much longer. They just couldn't! They knew it.
Although, maybe they could, for a few more minutes...
Alright, so I don't know if the events leading up to Mary becoming the Duke's wife make a lot of sense based only on the flashbacks, so here's the complete timeline:
(Spoilers for the previously published chapters)
Mary works as a translator during an interrogation of a teen and stands up for them, when she discovers they're being mistreated. This ruffles some feathers.
.
.
.
In order to get rid of Mary, James—someone she trusted—is asked to lure her into a trap. She is captured by a criminal gang that is involved in human trafficking.
.
.
.
The Duke, who is cracking down on crime—or at least pretends to—surrounds their hideout. The gang leader gives him Mary as a bribe.
.
.
.
Mary is expected to sign a peace treaty that would basically surrender all of her country's territory to the Empire. She says she doesn't have the authority to do it.
.
.
.
The Duke still finds Mary interesting and decides to find a new "use" for her by making her his wife. Mary refuses.
.
.
.
When Mary's country loses the war, she no longer has any hope of rescue and agrees to a marriage.

"Even though both their names are announced by the herald, Mary can feel that everyone's attention is on her. Although she is used to being stared at in public, she still feels uneasy as curious gazes examine her from every corner of the opulent ballroom.
What right do I have to judge them for it when I was no different in the past? Mary thinks back to all the times she's encountered released prisoners—emaciated and battered—and how morbid curiosity always took the better of her.
Now it's her turn to be a spectacle."
