Justice Falls

This alternate universe is similar to the Super Falls universe but different in many significant ways. Thus I will dub the name of this au Justice Falls. Here’s the main gist of it. I’m working on a fanfic of it and I’ll post the link once I’m done with the pilot episode. 15 year old, normal, powerless Dipper Pines discovers a hidden journal inside a strange, mechanical tree during his first night in Gravity Falls. He tests the journals legitemacy the next day by finding the author’s laboratory, deep in the woods. After he finds it, he of course crawls inside and investigates the lab, which looks abandoned for years now. Unfortunately for Dipper, after the many dormant years of inactivity, the laboratory has a meltdown, mainly being the responsibility of the mysterious but very radioactive shards, in which a small excerpt of the journal describes it. Dipper took in much of the shards’ radiation, and luckily for him, he barely leaves the lab in an escape pod which sends him into the sky, while the laboratory blows up, destroying all evidence. (Or so Dipper thinks) Dipper barely stays conscious from the radiation intake and the thin air, as he remains thousands of feet in the sky. As his day gets worse, the escape pod malfunctions and splits in half and also explodes, incinerating the emergency parachute located in the pod. Now free falling, Dipper tries to convince himself that he is only sleeping. He realizes that this is real life and he’s going to die. Dipper smashes into the ground at a couple hundred miles an hour and blacks out for a couple of minutes. When he wakes up, he is both amazed and frightened by the fact that he survived such a fall without serious injuries. Still a little sick from the radiation, Dipper decides to trek home, exhausted, torn clothes, little cuts all around his body. While walking home, Dipper feels a variety of “hallucinations,” like hearing Mabel’s voice from a half mile away and seeing through the Mystery Shack and spot Mabel standing twenty feet in the air. He shakes them off as only hallucinations and nothing more. He tries to sneak past Mabel and change shirts but she catches him and makes him spill the beans. When hearing about Dipper’s hallucinations, she agrees that they are indeed mere hallucinations. Dipper decides to take a nap. Dipper wakes up hitting his head on the ceiling and nearly faints when he realizes that he’s levitating. He then reveals this to Mabel by pranking her and soon they make a bet on each other; Dipper believes that he has superpowers, and Mabel believes they’re just hallucinations. So Dipper flies down (with difficulty) into the woods to complete his challenge. Once he completes his challenge and starts to head back home until he decides to see if he had other powers. Picking up a pine cone, Dipper then uses his new found heat vision and freeze breath on it, but he easily loses control and incinerates a large tree behind him causing it to fall. He tries using his super strength but accidentally squeezes it too hard and turns the tree into mulch. Dipper soon after has a mental breakdown, worried sick about these powers that were now his responsibility, and now worried that he’ll be a freak and an outcast from the only place where he has a fresh start. Dipper concludes that no one else but Mabel must know about his superpowers, unless some dire emergency makes an exception. Walking home instead of flying, Dipper instantly heads to the attic to Mabel (sitting on her bed and texting) and tells her dinner will be in fifteen minutes. Dipper took a shower and still sees Mabel on her bed texting and he uses his once again new found super speed and snatches her phone away from her, making fun of her “boyfriend.” Mabel threatens Dipper that she’ll reveal his secret to the public. The twins compromise their deals and head downstairs for dinner. After dinner, Dipper has a discussion with Soos about the abnormalities of the town. Soos agrees that something strange is going on, but repeats that Dipper must have evidence or else everyone will think he’s crazy. Dipper heads back upstairs to sleep, where he finds Mabel restlessly staring out into the sky. She tells him of staring into the stars. Dipper proposes to fly her out and see them. Mabel gladly accepts and the two head out of the window. Dipper stares at the stars and contemplates the events of the day, and wonders what adventures wait for him. He turns over and sees Mabel asleep. He flies her down and rests her into her bed. After making her comfortable, Dipper falls on his bed, completely drained from the events of the day. So there’s the main gist. I know that’s a lot to take in, but this is essential to the plot. In the general plot Dipper learns to control and conceal his powers from the public whilst helping the common people whenever possible. Along the way, Dipper faces many different foes, equally as dangerous as himself. Also, though Dipper doesn’t know it yet, but he is not invulnerable, but rather weak as talking with pain. He just simply has drastically accelerated regeneration. This is all the background information necessary so far, and reminder that I will put the link to the fanfiction once I finish proofreading and publish it. I’ve been waiting 8 long months to prepare this au. I’ll probably come out with drawings and other concept art. And without further ado, Justice Falls!
