Swiftie Spring Cleaning Part 2:

Hey guys-

I’m posting my obligatory “nurse-in-mask” picture and taking this chance to remind you why quarantine is important. Self-isolation and social distancing is hard on everyone, no one is exempt from that. In particular, every night I’m seeing how hard it is on my patients. These people who have no immune system to speak of are working through their cancer diagnosis alone because the hospital currently cannot allow any visitors. The next time you think what you’re doing to help flatten the curve doesn’t matter, remember this: you’re staying home so I can stay healthy enough to continue to come to work and provide them with extensive medical care (as well as a good laugh because let’s face it, I’m hilarious). And most importantly, you’re staying home so their family members can stay healthy enough for them to be able to go home to. Quarantine SUCKS. But thank you for doing it, because what you are doing MATTERS. And it’s truly benefitting some of my most favorite people in the world.

I’m only getting my frustration out here and then going back to not hanging on social media bc it messes with my mental health. 

One thing that throws me off so bad is that Scooter calls for resolution in private and then posts this screenshot ultimately contributing to the cancelled culture he’s “such a hater for”. All of that for the sole purpose of pinning it on Taylor’s back when it started with him. To me it’s bigger than him bullying Taylor and not being an overall good person. It’s that the business became personal when she didn’t get a chance to buy her OWN work back and now he’s using it as pressure points to get what he wants out of her which is basically : Let me make millions off your art and also shut up about it it’s just business. He’s saying he doing it because he supports the artist, that making the business decision to buy all of the masters and owning them is a show of support to the creator, then let her do whatever she wants with them. We all see that it’s about having a sword hanging over her head. If it was about her being happy he would let her buy them back because she’s said how much she wants them. We all know it’s also about the fact that owning Taylor’s masters will bring him more money than  he’ll ever dream of. And that’s why he’s trying to not let her record them again. And that’s greed and not “supporting and believing” in an artist Scooter. 

And one thing that he doesn’t get is that she won’t have a one to one discussion with him because he hurt her in the past and she doesn’t trust him. And I understand, how is she going to sit there trying to find a compromise while you hold her life’s work hostage. Taylor doesn’t want to compromise, she wants FAIR. She wants to own her blood sweat and tears. Why doesn’t he boost the artists under his wing, trying to make that money with them rather than profiting from art he didn’t even make.

Calling out Taylor saying this is only a narrative only because she doesn’t want a meeting is insane. He knows what she wants and still tries to compromise. She doesn’t want that; it’s either you let her buy her masters back or shell patiently wait for November 2020 to re-record them because that’s all she wants. TO OWN HER WORK. Not to chat. Not to be friends. 

He acts like he doesn’t know what would please her, like he’s standing in the dark and thats disgusting. He’s trying to make everyone believe that he wants a mutual agreement while all he wants is to have it both ways.
