reading the green creek series rn and what gets me everytime is that we know ox inherently thinks of himself as just a little less. He's different because he isnt much - hes just plain old ox. who's gonna get shit. and then you look at him through literally anyone elses eyes and the first thing they notice is how hes different from everyone they know because he's somehow more.

I love ox sm yall idk why. He brings a weird sense of comfort to me that he’s just some guy. Hes just some quiet guy that was raised by a single mother and is a mechanic and yet he’s got such a good heart. Even now as a wolf, hes so unmistakably human.
