the end credits of Brand New Day got me thinking about how this film would have been the perfect opportunity for the mcu to introduce photography for tom holland’s peter parker. we find him in a period of time where he’s observing life rather than participating in it and i just think in the depths of his loneliness, he could have found photography. he loves his city but alienates himself from it - he is invisible to everyone. having him hide, even when he’s peter parker, behind a camera rather than a mask, could have further emphasised his isolation. give me a homemade darkroom, give me a series of candids of just people being happy that reek of envy, give me the angles of new york that only he gets to see. those end credit photographs could have been his.

“power of friendship”… it’s almost like teamwork is required when facing an opponent who is stronger than all of you individually and even combined. it’s almost like strategy is just as important as sheer power when it comes to winning battles. it’s almost like making plans that prioritise each person’s own strengths is smarter than simply all throwing yourselves at your enemy and hoping for the best. it’s almost like it’s not the power of friendship but the power of common sense to be prepared for a fight you could easily lose.
