I guess it's time for me to make a pinned introduction post. You can call me Quartz. I reblog a lot of stuff about vkei. I also translate interviews and band content for fun in my spare time.
You can see my post about what to expect from my translations here, and here is my post with tips about any translation you might read.
I have a large backlog of stuff I want to translate, but please feel free to drop me an ask if there is something you'd like to see and I can add it to the list.

Folks, for those of you who use Tumblr primarily from phones, stop everything you are doing right now and figure out how to turn off auto updates in the Tumblr app as soon as possible.
The web is fucked up, it's borderline unusable, but the apps haven't been updated yet.

Been looking for this photo for a while, only had a somehow even more low res version for years. I can make out that it says something about a record in Germany (I have seen a German release of Smile for Me, so possibly that?) and American television but that’s it. I’ve heard the story of a group sounds band being in the audience of The Ed Sullivan Show and then being promoted as having been on The Ed Sullivan Show once they returned to Japan a few times, sometimes about different groups, including the Tigers. If anyone wants to try to make out any of this, have at it. If not, there’s a photo of Taro with a toy car and Julie I assume caught in the middle of dancing, creating a pose reminiscent of the John Lennon Madman Strut.
As a side note, The Blue Comets actually were guests on The Ed Sullivan show, where they performed Blue Chateau in English and Japanese. Their performance of Gagaku on the same show has been uploaded in HD by the official Ed Sullivan channel, but this is the best video I can find of the Blue Chateau performance.
Translation ahead! Putting under a cut due to the fact that I forgot as usual that Japanese expands to like three times its original size in English and so this turned out longer than I expected.
One other thing I wanted to note: this is definitely geared to a pre-teen/early teen audience based on how it's written! The tone is very casual and there are furigana next to most of the kanji for easier reading.
There are three individual mini-articles on the page, and I translated them from right to left.
The Songs of the 5 Members Flowing Out to the World
At last, The Tigers are looking to the world and spreading their wings. Early next year, it's been decided that a record will be released by Deutche Grammophon. The two song titles will be "Hana no Kubikazari" and "Ginga no Romance".
Speaking of Deutche Grammophon, they're a large global record company with sales networks in each country. As a result, The Tigers' record will not only be in Germany, but will also be released in the United States, too, as well as France and other countries around the world.
"We're happy about it, and we've gathered our strength for this great chance. Of course, it will be in Japanese, because we are Japanese," Sally said with pride. We also heard that it was Deutche Grammophon who had the plan to call on Japan's Tigers.
Well, we'll all be looking forward to hearing about the type of reputation our Tigers get in each country, won't we?
7 Days in America in December
If the five members of The Tigers disappeared from Japan, what would you do? This is for real, what we're talking about!
But, don't panic. It's only for about seven days, so you've got to endure it. Although details of the schedule and locations have not yet been decided, it has been decided that they will go to the US in December. This is not the "long foreign country vacation" they have been expecting. This time, they'll be tangled up with work the whole time, and while there, we've heard they'll be on a New Year's television special.
But even with that, everyone is looking forward to it.
"I might be able to meet up with Shiro (Sally's younger brother who's gone to the US to study music.) That would make him so happy," said Sally.
"I want to have a closer look at the fashion over there," said Toppo.
"I wonder which kind of English I can understand, either one," came the response from those with the secret to English, Pi and Taro.
"I wish I could see Sammy Davis Junior's show. I want to study the tricks of being an MC," of course, came from Julie.
The New Years Movie Will Be A Musical
Well, we've got one more piece of news to put you in a good mood. Continuing "The World Is Waiting For Us", The Tigers have been able to come back for another round in the movies.
Unfortunately, we can't write about the details of its contents yet, but it seems it will be a large-scale musical that incorporates the views of young people. Right now, they're urgently in the middle of preparing the pitch. Of course, it should also be full of songs from The Tigers you can listen to.
With the film studio putting in the most effort, to make a "first week of the new year" product, shooting will begin in November at the latest. It's been decided that it will be released by Toho Group from the end of December through around New Year's.
If you're a Tigers fan, you're definitely wanting New Year's to hurry up and come...I suppose it makes you want to sing.
