10 things about Lakawon Island 1. There is a minimum of 10 person passengers before they bring you to the island or back to cadiz viejo. So either you pay extra or wait for another group. This can be a problem if you will be coming from the island to the airport to try to meet your flight, so make sure you allot enough time and anticipate a wait time. 2. If staying in the bamboo room, expect your restroom to be outside the room. Although this is exclusively yours it might be difficult if you have to use it in the middle of the night. They have well kept restrooms even the one located near the restaurant. 3. There seems to be too much cottages occupying the beach front. They have set-up numerous cottages and several were unused. Do not expect it to be like Boracay, Puerto Galera or Kalanggaman in term of the beach front. I hope they did not fill the beach front with cottages, it's just too much. 4. There are no other stores in the island aside from their restaurant 5. The restaurant items are over priced. A piece of liempo will cost you 210 pesos and a pakbet which is good for 3 is at the same price. It is better to bring your own food and just pay the 50 pesos/pax corkage fee. 6. They do not have service water, you have to either bring your own drinks or buy water at 25 per 500 ml bottle 7. Their printed menu that has a more reasonable price food range which was available in the morning may no longer be available for lunch and dinner. You can only get what is on the display counter. 8. Staff seems like they are only guessing the prices of their products. There were too many of them in groups and yet they were not really attentive to their guests. 9. There is still an ongoing construction on the island 10. Tawhai Floating Bar is the saving grace for this trip. Overall, the Lakawon Island Resort failed to meet expectations. The only positive thing about the island trip was the Floating Bar. A day trip to the island is enough and only to stay most of your time on Tawhai Floating Bar. We stayed there for 3 days and 2 night. We could have alloted the extra days to discover other parts of Negros.

This was our last conversation. You told me how sick you were and your future plans. We made plans to meet up before you leave for the province but that will not be possible now that you’re gone. I am posting this so I will not forget that I once had a friend like you. I am posting this so I will be reminded of the day you left us and how it made me feel. I am sad because I will never experience the joy and laughter you bring everytime we see each other. You will be missed Glenn - make them all laugh in heaven!

So I have been feeling sick lately and I'm not sure what is happening to my body. I have seen the doctor over the weekend but we still have to wait for the results of the test I took. I still have another test to take, this one requires fasting. I want to say that I am staying positive that this is nothing major but my paranoid alter ego has the tendency to overthink things. Plus the fact that I'm in my thirties worries me. They say that once you hit 30, your body starts to decline and you start paying for the abuse you did to your body in your younger years. I guess I'm really not sure what to expect. I pray for guidance and God's healing.

Because even in my element, I fear.
