It really does flashbacks to the various years of these types of people doing all the weird shenanigans like "don't call them terfs call them farts!" or how they'd call an average dude being transphobic a "terf" and people would point out that the guy is anti-feminist. These are those people who never understood what terf meant in the first place, these are the people who never understood the violence and bigotry terf ideology spreads, these are the people who don't actually know the feminist history that lead to the development of terf ideology.

Up to this point, I have been using cissexist language, because that is how people phrase this idea. But let's try to expand and be more accurate here.

If this is your belief, then what makes cis men more lustful then cis women? Because it would have to be based in biology, would it not? So, how do binary trans, non-binary folk, and intersex people fit into this view of yours?

If you say rape is about lust and not power, then you are saying that rape is more of an instinct and not a learned behavior, and that certain people are more biologically prone to rape then others.

Also, it should probably be said that this idea is something that has commonly been used against people of color, foreigners, immigrants, and displaced people. Perhaps most consistently, though not exclusively, this has been used against African people.

Now, maybe your idea of this certain people who are biologically more prone to rape has nothing to do with race or place of birth. But these ideas have historically, and continue to, commonly go together.

They refused to play and promote black artists and then claimed that were no black artists in the first place. Michael Jackson’s record company had to threaten a boycott of their white artists to get MTV to play his Thriller video.

Plus, the first black/white interracial kiss on TV was in 1968 (OG Star Trek). Also it took us until the 70s to get sympathetic gay characters on screen, and the 90s to get gay characters to kiss onscreen. And all of those firsts were met with outrage.

So keep that in mind when you see Bruce Springsteen not just playing with an interracial band, but engaging in an interracial, gay kiss on stage repeatedly.
