ohhhhhh thats a tough one! im not necessarily sure if these will be to your liking but here are my recent top picks (of the games i have played myself or the list would be impossible to make)

book of hours: generally would not put this in first but i did recently replay it and the demo for the upcoming game in the same universe (travelling at night) was just released so im just super hyped. shouting this one out bc its basically my favorite universe and my favorite lore ever created and also i just love being a messed up little librarian of a messed up little library (read: a very big very occult library that makes me far too powerful)

pentiment: idk this game is just on its own the video game of all time to me and would usually go in first. it just paints such an incredibly vivid and complex picture of life and power struggles and personal struggles in a medieval setting. the whole story is such chefs kiss. they did fuck up the german text but i forgive them

eastshade: idk sometimes you just need to be a painter in a world of anthropomorphic monkeys and owls and bears and deer, returning to your mothers most beloved places to paint them after her death i cant explain why it just is so good for the soul. eastshade is one of the most beautiful fictional places ive ever visited

paradise killer: another absolute fucking banger when it comes to lore and story and characters and the overarching message. murder mystery done in a very different way that i cannot say much about at all without spoiling your goals in the game. 10/10 the perfect use of the vaporwave aesthetic in a video game

goldfinch: so so pretty i love their little faces! and they are so small and their song is so beautiful! i also love how they do a little twitter whenever they pass by so you always know its them. have had a bunch hang out close to my home and it has been delightful.

swallow: big chirps big groups!!!!! they zoom!!!!!!! they make me dizzy but i love them <3 honorary mention here for the swifts who i love for the same reason but i dont have enough spaces :(

tits: my og favorites so they have to be on the list. not picking any specific tit is cheating i know but i just love them all sm. recently i saw crested tits and long tailed tits for the first time and im so excited about it hehe

robin: idk they just have the prettiest birdsong imo i love it so much. and their cute little red chests and also they always hang out rly close to the street so u see their little beaks go when they sing!!!! its beautiful!!!!!
