the world feels smaller without you by my side

like..........what do you mean the movie is about how the raccoons could have won if only they tried hard enough? what do you mean the reason they didnt succeed was bc of the infighting and bc the more moderate raccoons dissuaded the militant group from acting several times? did we watch the same movie i really do not get it.

the whole point to me is about how it was inevitable from the beginning that their forest would get destroyed to make way for town expansion. because its ultimately a movie about the real life destructive impact that humans have on nature and thats how it works in real life. there is no magical ending where the animals band together to show the humans that they are worthy of being respected and saved, neither should they have to convince anyone. "if only the raccoons had talked to the humans earlier...." then what? what would it have changed? sure, a lot of people were open to their message, but it was all the little people. those with the power to change things just wanted to make their money and they made it clear they had no issue with killing a bunch more forest animals to get their way. not to mention that all the people still would have needed a home as well, which is why construction started in the first place. and sure, it couldve been done more responsibly, but again, the people in charge were just looking to make their money, and either way, a lot of habitat and animals would have been lost. there was never a perfect solution.
