I’ve always been team! Jacob ever since the books and ever since the movies. Stephanie Meyers can shove her racist notions up her Mormon white ass, I’m all for the Wolfpack.
But the thing about Bella and Jacob that drew me in is the idea of them taking care of each other. Edward was all controlling and making decisions for Bella, overriding her opinions, blah blah blah, but that wouldn’t have been the case with Jacob and Bella. Already they have the advantages of being friends (and I’ve always been a fan of friends to lovers) because it means they’re comfortable with each other and confide in each other.
Jacob has been having to take care of his disabled father, go to school, be a wolf, deal with vampires, then soon be a leader of the pack, and all of this as a teenager. Bella, before moving to forks, had to take care of Renee (and that meant groceries, bills, etc. She had a job much younger than she should’ve just to keep the lights on), moved and cooked for Charlie, went to school, had a job, and deal with a vampire chasing her.
They’ve both been through enough that they need each other, find solace in each other. They’re each other’s peace and tranquility, a break from the mess they have to deal with, and while they might make mistakes, might fuck up a bit, that type of relationship is perfect.
