Gustave meets The Curator.

The Curator meets an imitation.

Their lips met, tentative at first—a question asked and answered in the soft press of lips. Then Verso made a sound, low and desperate, and the kiss deepened into something harsher. Needier. Verso's hands were everywhere—cradling Gustave's face, sliding in his hair, tracing the line of his jaw with reverent fingers. He kissed like he was trying to memorize the shape of Gustave's mouth, like he was pouring years of want into this single moment.

I am currently in project jail. . . for this really cool Visual Novel thing you should check out

BUT I did manage to break containment and write a little bit for the next The Chroma We Share chapter- (so uhhhhh spoilers for TCWS if you haven't read it yet)

As he finally pulled off the last layer from his borrowed body, he took a moment to look at Verso. Gustave couldn’t help but gently run his fingers over the scars he could see littering his arms, tracing the raised jagged lines that criss-crossed over his abdomen.  “Why?” he couldn’t help but ask. Why what? Keep the scars?  Gustave nodded their head as he ran his finger over the scar that ran across the left side of Verso’s face. “You can heal anything, so you must be keeping them on purpose.” Verso hesitated, and Gustave let him. He could feel the other man's reluctance to share, but he waited patiently as he began to gently scrub the salt from the clothes he had shed.  He had almost finished before Verso spoke. Because he didn’t have them. They’re something that reminds me I am my own person. His words were a soft confession, and they stabbed right into his heart.  He thought about Verso’s words as he began to gently wash them. Despite their passion just earlier in the day, there was nothing sexual in the tender motions he used to bathe. He felt Verso’s rapt attention on what he was doing, and could feel him melt at the care Gustave was treating his body with.  He couldn’t help but tease him with small kisses he pressed into the scars he could reach, Verso becoming adorably embarrassed with each one.
