She stood by the door of her home when it happened. The sight of an unidentified craft emerging from the skies and landing on Earth, most specifically on the piece of land belonging to her property, was thrilling and familiar yet alien in all the sense of the word. It was him, it had to be him. After all these months he was finally back as he had promised⌠not that she ever gave up on him in her heart, her mind, however, remained sceptical. Could anyone blame her? None of her doubts mattered, not when his figure made itself visible at the distance causing the womanâs heart to skip a bit.Â
She stepped forward, a hurried feet moving then the other and then none at all ââ nothing was the same, and then her doubts turned into fear. Thinking for so long he may as well never come back to this planet she never exactly planned to what to do and what to say, whether Jâson of Spartax of all males in the universe decided to give up on his planet and title to stay on Earth or dared to take a human alongside him back his home planet, nothing would be the same. It wasnât just the two of them anymore. Her hands pulled down on her cosy knitted sweater, the baggy clothes hid her swollen belly considerably well, given her slender figure it wasnât that big which also helped. She would have to tell him but not yet. First things first, she allowed herself to smile with joy to welcome him back as she ran to him, â ââJâson!â

It was months since heâd been to this planet, months since heâd last saw her. So much had happened in those few, short months. Heâd been embroiled in the war with the Ariguans, his father had died, catapulting him into the throne and basically pinned him down to manage a massive empire recovering from the war. Even those were not enough to keep him away. Heâd made a promise to come back after the war was over. A fine thing for him to start off his time as a ruler breaking a promise, after all.
So here he was, on this backwater planet that hadnât seemed to have made past their moon yet, walking up the house heâd recovered in after his crash. He could see the woman whoâd nursed him back to health waiting there on the doorstep before running over to him, his name on her lips. He smiled as he caught her in a hug an swung her around, âMeredith!â Placing her back on the ground, he was about to kiss her when something registered to him and the ruler of the Spartax Empire committed a male faux pas and asked her, âDid you get fat?â as soon as the words were out, his eyes widened and he stepped back, fearful of her reaction.
