Stop hating on Pink diamond
Running a colony must of been hard. Especially when your two diamond sisters/moms, start making you feel inferior and ignoring you as if you were a normal gem. Pink diamond faked her death because of the emotional abuse she was receiving. She just wanted an end from it all.
I tend to agree. I think people are treating PD like an adult when really PD is more childlike. Yes, her decision was reckless and impulsive, and yes the Song of Corruption lay at her feet, but again she didn’t know this would happen and I think in her immaturity she lacked the foresight to even predict it. She made a serious child's mistake. IMHO Its a bit like a kid who played with matches and burned the house down and accidentally mutilated a relative.
In other episodes, PD/RQ is revealed to have been trying with no success to heal corrupted gems. Centipedel specifically is one episode I can think of where the failure to heal corrupted gems is mentioned. She tried for thousands of years to fix the damage her reckless actions caused. Moreover, her actions did buy the Earth time and allow Humanity to survive along with all other life.
If anything I see PD/RQ in a much more tragic light now than before. RQ as just RQ I feel like should have known better. But PD was depicted as childlike in jungle moon base episode. If we think of PD as a child, not an adult, her decisions make more sense and the story arc becomes a lot sadder as a result.
