I went to Keepsakes Cafe to grab a bite while I was waiting for my test results. There's a huge wooden wall inside the cafe covered with close to a hundred picture frames. The picture frames come in different designs, shapes, sizes, and colours but they are all empty. ‌ It took me couple of minutes to perceive that the frames are metaphors of how some people live their lives. The frames represent the outer life - appearance, job, home, etc. and the inside is the inner self, the essential, authentic self. We know some people who are beautiful. They look like they have wonderful lives but there's nothing on the inside. They are like these very ornate picture frames that are displayed on their own without art or picture.
