seeing a lot of crk negativity on twitter... gonna wait til update actually drops to see how I feel, but in general im not having as great a time as a crk fan anymore... the writing has been mediocre for as long as I've been a fan, and I've been okay with that fact (i knew what I was getting into lol), but honestly at this point im starting to get disappointed... I think crk has so much awesome storytelling potential that just continues to be awkwardly missed or sidestepped. I still like the fandom's creations and interpretations, but now there's so much negativity that I feel would be so much less of if the writing was of better quality.. its just a shame.

makes me want to oc-ify my favs (PV, SM, WL), so maybe if I have the time I'll draw up some designs for them

#talking 🎶#cookie run #crk #definitely becoming one of those fandoms where its less that I like canon #but more that I like what the fans are able to create based on what they like or envisioned from canon.#crk's writing is just too awkward and slow and repetitive to the point thats its actively harmful to their story.#people are getting so confused over what crk's actual goals in its story are (and not in a good mysterious way)#and i feel they have good stories to tell but dont actually know how to make it there?? so they just kinda fuck around #and find out while writing and building up to the outcomes they want? Idk #and that results in a lot of the awkward dialogue and revisiting or rehashing things we thought were concluded #cuz like. I love how we seem to be addressing PV's character flaws cuz I love those flaws! Makes for an intriguing #character! but at the same time I feel like his awakening was framed as this big moment where he finally Got It #but its not... what did he truly understand in his awakening? what did we accomplish there if we're just now #actually addressing his failures to understand and walk alongside those he loves?#I feel his awakening should have instead accompanied a lesson like this #as it is it just feels a bit awkward? like 2 separate people with separate ideas of PV wrote these different chunks of the story?#the work separately but when put together into one story and one character arc it just becomes a bit odd #and this isn't even a great example of what I was trying to say but its the first I thought of #I feel like they just often have this problem of stories or character arcs feeling disjointed and awkwardly done
