Current Hardscape update
Hi, Brad here. I'd like to tell you about my CB600, a CADE tank 60x45x45 (like you didn't know). Old Scape The first scape in this tank (and the first serious scape I'd ever accomplished) lasted about 2 years. As the tank progressed my inspiration came from Dutch scapes. At its best (Dec 2013) it looked like this: Just a couple weeks ago (Christmas 2014) I tore it down. I traded all the plants for 3 bags of soil. At the time it was looking like this: New Scape I purchase a lot of ohko rock. I like this rock. I like how you can smash it up and I love its texture. Algae scrapes off it relatively easily too. I found my inspiration in The Great Wave by Katsushika Hokusai: Â And mocked-up this Ohko Ocean: Â The curve in the mock-up was sooooo delicate; opening the window caused it to collapse. Getting these rocks to stay put it's easy. At this point I thought I'd have to use a lot of glue. Then began the process of walking handfuls of rocks from the mock-up in the spare bedroom to the tank. I used a lot of floor tiles to lift the rocks. The first somewhat finished scape didn't have the curve because I couldn't make it stable. After some online encouragement I went back to it the next day and came up with this (no glue): The tank was flooded and just yesterday I put the sand in (50/50 La Plata and Sarawak). Tried putting some snow on 'Mt Fuji (not sure about this). Here it is under just 2 tubes: More to come...

My Bengal cat Amano named after aquascaping great Takashi Amano.
And just a status update, I have a few projects underway, so pictures of those tanks up soon.
Thanks from JoshScape
