Maryland Winds--the professional concert band--has partnered with the music department of Morgan State University to make a special performance possible. As a special treat, musicians from the Morgan State University bands will join Symphonic Winds for a piece that has been selected just for this performance. It will be an evening of great music that you won’t want to miss! The title of the program is "Americana" -- which is defined as is an amalgam of American music formed by the confluence of the shared and varied traditions that make up the musical ethos of the United States, specifically those sounds that are emerged from the Southern United States such as folk, gospel, blues, country, jazz, rhythm and blues, rock and roll, bluegrass, and other external influences. Tickets are $15 for adults, $!3 for seniors, $12 for students. Tickets can be purchased online at marylandwinds.com and in-person at the Murphy Fine Arts Center ticket office (which is open on Saturdays (10AM-4PM).
