EVERYONE GIVE IT UP FOR AMERICA’S FAVORITE FIGHTING FRENCHMAAAAN
I relate to this on a spiritual level.
Its third season is still young, but THE 100 continues to cement itself as one of the best shows on television, week after week.
What began as an easily dismissible Young Adult series is now partially responsible for The CW’s rebranding these last few years, after evolving into one of the most complex and thrilling morality plays just a few episodes in.
A century in the future, humanity’s return to the nuclear wasteland once called Earth is led by a group of juvenile delinquents sent to test the waters for the rest of civilization, but as it turns out, they aren’t alone down there. So many of our modern stories are post-apocalyptic, from movies to books to TV shows, and few of them manage to be redemptive in any meaningful way. While THE 100 is the farthest thing from jovial, pitting people, clans and cultures against each other amidst harrowing wartime dilemmas, it drags its characters through the mud and breaks them down to their barest only to teach them to build themselves back up again.
It cuts right to the heart of human military conflict, not so much science fiction as political-science fiction, and the way its (notably diverse) characters change in both appearance and persona is horrifying, but completely, completely earned.
There’s nothing quite like it.

What's your favorite of the current Marvel series?
Oh gosh, Ms. Marvel hands down. There’s nothing else they’re putting out right now that so perfectly encapsulates the constant struggle between the personal, the cultural and the political when it comes to superhero mythology, and it’s just a damn touching coming-of-age story of in general.
that thing when bb-8 tilts their lil head dome forward so they can roll Extra fast reblog if you agree
them quik

isnt this just the droid version of a naruto run
I’m the guy in the silver car in the background who’s late for work because this goddamn chicken is fighting a chandelier
Cards Against Humanity was fun tonight. :D
what if zelda was a girl
typical fake gamer girl. probably an sjw too.
if you actually played the games, you’d KNOW zelda was the horse
Really? I thought zelda was, like, this magical sword or something
she’s the pirate, you dumbasses
the real zelda was the friends we made along the way

There's a contingent of Tumblr that thinks white people loving Hamilton is troubling because the show isn't "for" them. What do you make of this?
There’s also a contingent that thinks Hamilton is made specifically for white people and is a white-washing of Hip Hop, so a good solution here is for people to let folks like what they like.
If people are missing out on certain elements of the show’s cultural recontextualization (one of my favourite things about it), the contingent you’re referring to should write about the show and start conversations about why looking at it through a racial lens might be important.
Telling people not to enjoy something is, like, the worst way to engage with art.
ok. I made a long-form version of Jean Ralphio’s amazing tale of clubs, ladies, dancing, police, and more.
BB8 is technically homeless. Here is his tale.
Congratulations on winning the Internet
All I can hope for is that when I die, every person with less than 20 twitter followers will begin chanting “problematic” in unison
I'm a concerned parent and I don't like the pro communist values Marvel promotes. I know China is Marvel's new market but must Iron-Man be wearing their flags colors? Is American freedom really being thrown away like an old comic book?
Ever notice Captain America wears the same colors as the CUBAN FLAG!?!?!
Can you name a single fictional character that means the most to you? And why?
I needed some time to think about this because it’s kind of a tough one, and I had all these second options listed out with various reasonings. Mostly villains, like Ozymandias from Watchmen, who represents our ability to compartmentalize in order to justify heinous acts, and Walter White from Breaking Bad, who uses righteousness and familial duty as a mask to commit crimes that lessen his own insecurities, but I eventually went back to my first choice. A simple one, almost bordering on cliche, but I don’t think there was every going to be another answer.
Superman.
The thing that’s made him such an enduring icon over the last 78 years is that he’s a simple, distilled versions of some very universal human experiences - isolation and alienation - yet at the same time, he represents the best of what humanity has to offer, but it doesn’t come easy. Doing the right thing is what defines Superman, but what makes him interesting is figuring out exactly what that right thing is, and making sure to do it no matter the challenge. More than just that, as he continues his struggle with living up to the goodness his parents instilled in him, he tried to instill it in others, inspiring people to follow in the footsteps of the ideal that he’s constantly striving towards, and in some cases, simply inspiring people to live.
He isn’t Superman because he stops bullets and catches falling buildings. He’s Superman because he protects an entire planet of people who would reject him if they knew who he was, because it’s the right thing to do. He’s the best of us, and he’s the best of who we can be.

Imagine being this Straight
Wow. I didn’t even think it was possible to be this straight.
Guys listen, I fucked up and I am sorry.
Note: The person apologizing is doing so because their comment resulted in people harassing them anonymously.
A+ to those of us who fight for equality by bullying people who maybe said a silly thing once. That’s definitely progress.
