Should I be getting ready for work? Yes. BUT
One of the craziest character moments for me last episode (which is saying a lot because there were MANY, but also I am in fact biased) was Occtis raising Dame Gaya Seremai and I want to talk about.
Like he carted her all the way back to Dol-Makjar, cast Gentle Repose on her, and snuck her body into Obrimus Manor with the intent to lay her to rest respectfully (to which I made a post talking about how Occtis was acting more like a true Tachonis than the rest of his family with wanting to honor the dead, and a member of his vassal house at that).
Only for Occtis to get a taste of his family's power, connect and take from the magic of the manor (initiating a level up and some very cool descriptions from Alex), and then at the FIRST sign of danger chose to, basically no hesitation, raise an undead Gaya to fight for him.
Oh babygirl you are your father's son. You may have been the black sheep of your family but you are still a Tachonis and don't you let us forget it.
I know Alex talked about this (I think in his fireside chat), but I do love how he is playing Occtis as not being "immediately reformed" and playing into the messiness and flaws of the character. And I can't wait for (hopefully) other characters to confront him about that moment. My bet's on Julien.
Like yes I want Occtis to get worse, actually. More freaky please. Neutral evil is the best alignment for wizards.
